Bernie Sanders called Hillary Clinton ‘unqualified’ to be president — and blew up his own campaign

Tuesday night, Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver warned the Clinton campaign to not, “destroy the Democratic Party to satisfy the secretary’s ambitions to become president of the United States.”

This, of course, is laughable aimed as it is at a candidate who has garnered more than 2.4 million more votes than her rival, but also coming from a campaign that has given zero, nada, nothing, bupkis, zilch to down-ticket Democratic candidates for their own campaigns while Clinton has kicked in close to $30 million. In fact Sanders — who pulled in a cool $44 million in March – admitted that he chose to run as a Democrat for the money.

“To run as an independent, you need — you could be a billionaire,” Sanders explained “If you’re a billionaire, you can do that. I’m not a billionaire. So the structure of American politics today is such that I thought the right ethic was to run within the Democratic Party.”

It wouldn’t be surprising if those superdelegate Democratic officeholders who are getting stiffed by Bernie already look at him as some random guy who bummed a ride in their car for the drive from Vermont to Orlando to see Phish — but adamantly refuses to come up with “ass, gas or grass.”

Ask your parents about that one, kids.

..

If only someone in the Sanders campaign had actually taken a second to read the transcript — where Clinton not only said no such thing, but went out of her way to avoid saying it — before revving Bernie up before a speech in Philadelphia (video below).

Then he probably would not have said the following:

“Now the other day, I think, Secretary Clinton appeared to be getting a little bit nervous, and she has been saying lately that she thinks that I am, quote-unquote not qualified to be president,” Sanders told the crowd at Temple University. “Well let me just say in response to Secretary Clinton, I don’t believe that she is qualified if she is — through her Super PAC — taking tens of millions of dollars in special interest funds. I don’t think that you are qualified if you get 15 million dollars from Wall Street through your Super PAC. I don’t think you are qualified if you have voted for the disastrous war in Iraq. I don’t think you are qualified if you’ve supported virtually every disastrous trade agreement, which has cost us millions of decent paying jobs.”

These may be reasons to not vote for Clinton, but they are hardly evidence of a lack of qualifications. In fact, with the exception of the Iraq vote in the case of Obama, what he accused Clinton of could also be applied to Obama, Joe Biden and John Kerry.

So, basically, the only person “qualified” to be the Democratic nominee for president — is the guy who’s not a Democrat.

Okay, then.

She would not make a global, personal judgment that he wasn't qualified. Instead, she focused on the specifics of the issues and how he addressed them.

But Bernie blew his top when he saw the headlines and he took the bait, hook, line, and sinker.

For me? I also believe she is unqualified based on her record. She has been wrong too often and she will only nibble around the edges, of the edges.

I agree with the President when he said in his ad in 2008, she will say anything and change nothing.

Her email screw up, she herself said she made a bad decision, it's just one of too many that are serious.

We are all 'qualified' as U.S. citizens to be the President.

In the end, both of these candidates have long records. When you look, from the foundation to the votes, the corruption and the baggage, I think it's sad the Clinton's are putting the country through more of their antics. America has been good to them, and I don't think they were really good for America. For me, her record disqualifies her. I said it before Bernie. Flame away.

IT's amazing how much Sanders and Trump demonstrate the validity of the assertion - "The more extreme people are in their positions, the more alike they become - despite the differences in their stated doctrines."

Hillary Clinton Responds To Bernie: 'I'll Take Sanders Over Trump Or Cruz Any Time'

"Look, I didn’t — I don’t know why he’s saying that. But I will take Bernie Sanders over Donald Trump or Ted Cruz any time. So let’s keep our eye on what’s really at stake in this election," Clinton reminded.

http://crooksandliars.com/2016/04/jeff-weaver-not-done

^snip^

Well, I think if you look at her record, if you look at her campaign, you know, her campaign is funded by millions and millions of dollars from Wall Street and other special interests. She’s really made a deal with the devil, and we all know the devil wants his money in the end.

So that’s the kind of campaign she’s running. She supported the terrible trade deals which have devastated American manufacturing in this country. She supported the war in Iraq. She continues to have a very, very hawkish foreign policy that has led to the rise and expansion of ISIS throughout the Middle East.

One campaign in full retreat while the other is pressing the advantage.

Something blew up all right, we just disagree on what it was.
