2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf HRC had just said "of course Bernie is qualified" when Scarborough repeatedly asked her...
...none of this would have happened.
There was no good reason for her NOT to say that.
She should apologize for refusing to say that.
She knows what she did there was wrong.

HRC isn't owed special deference because of her gender.

(37,549 posts)She didn't smear him---she critiqued him. He then thought she said something she didn't.
He owes her an apology. But he won't give one.

(47,803 posts)If you don't think she knew EXACTLY what she was saying and the implications of the way she said it you are naive.
And as for claiming sexism? Hell's bells how is she ever going to act as an effective president if the whole damn world has to walk on eggs for fear of accusations of bias?
Fail on both counts.
Stick with why you think she'd be a good candidate and president.

Hillary said Bernie hadn't done his homework, not that he's unqualified. After Bernie quoted a WaPo headline as a HRC quote, she has a point

(11,417 posts)Bernie has no detail to his talking points. He cannot tell you how his proposals will get done. All he can say is the revolution will bring it about. To some of us that isn't good enough.
I said this before and it bares repeating. The difference is pragmatism vs idealism.
No he does not deserve an apology.

(856 posts)You do realize that Senator Sanders & the DNC are in talks now to resolve the lawsuit filed by Senator Sanders. Please do not go there--it was quite revealing to me when Bernie was able to get a Federal Judge to hear the case on the same day that the DNC immediately backed down.
Sheepshank
(12,504 posts)They file a suit for not having access to the data stored at DNC. The theft was another issue altogether, that they blamed on others who tempted them and baited them and they couldn't resist. Weak sauce imho.
And how dare you try and threaten where or where I may not go in discussion on a public discussion site.

(4,187 posts)It doesn't also apply to Bernie?
Hillary refused, when pressed, to call Bernie "unqualified." Three times. But that's not enough because as a woman, her job is to praise men and make them feel better about themselves, right?
Bernie, without even being pressed, called Hillary "unqualified." Three times, if not more. He also lied about what she had said. But he's decent and respectful?
Can't you see what an extreme double standard that is?
druidity33
(6,446 posts)First, i'm not sure why you put qualified in quotes. Second, actually i think she refused to say he was QUALIFIED three times. Which is entirely different from what you are saying. In fact, it's the opposite.
