2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIn attack mode, Hillary says ANYTHING about her opponents (She claimed Obama was unqualified for VP)
Hillary and her campaign lobbed this very public attack at Obama in March 2008, from the Chicago Tribune.
We do not believe at this point that Sen. Obama has passed that key commander in chief test, Wolfson said. Later, Wolfson added that what Clinton views as Obama's failure to pass that test would disqualify him as a vice presidential pick, since a vice president must be prepared to step into the presidency at a moments notice. Sen. Clinton will not choose any candidate who has not at the time of choosing passed the national security threshold, period, Wolfson said.
Forget about Obama being qualified for the Presidency! According to Hillary 2008, Obama wasn't even qualified to be her Vice President.
It's apparent that Hillary lacks the judgment to determine who is qualified for higher office. She couldn't have been more wrong about Obama in 2008. She's also wrong about Bernie's policies and ideas, in 2016.
The Clinton camp has demonstrated that when they shift into attack mode--their assertions are not only wrong and misguided, but laughable. History has proven her wrong.
The night of the Wisconsin primary, the Clinton campaign revealed that they have shifted into a in full-blown "Destroy and Disqualify" attack against Bernie. Clearly, she'll say anything about her political opponents when her head is in this place.
I know we have to put up with this nonsense; and we should defend it. However, and most importantly, we need to keep in mind that what she says when she's acting like this--are baseless attacks that are not rooted in reality.

(24,411 posts)I think he should double down and speak more about how she is unqualified. The crowd was cheering when he made those comments.
The Clinton camp is trying to silence Bernie, because he was spot on about her horrendous Iraq War vote and her campaign's continued acceptance of Wall Street and powerful special interest money.
I think Bernie should continue to run a positive campaign while drawing that strong contrast between his policies/actions and Clintons.

(24,411 posts)She spent the entire day, on national media, suggesting that his ideas weren't workable. She also launched attacks about Bernie not being a real Democrat.
She's insulting and Sanders was right to respond to her in the way he did.
Enough with the whining. She deserved everything she got. Sander's response was tame.

If Hillary never said "unqualified" Bernie shouldn't have quoted her. And it was totally unnecessary because half the time Hillary makes a gaffe (impromptu), and the other half of the time her responses are carefully crafted (rehearsed). She's made it very clear what she thinks about Bernie's qualifications without using the word.

(12,296 posts).... the accusations aren't even original. It's the same playbook she used in 2008, almost to the word. Just replace "Obama" with "Sanders".
You'd think if she's such a brilliant candidate and so eminently qualified to run the free world, she would have campaign staff who could do some real oppo research. They appear to be not-so-bright, and/or lazy. Not the types of folks I want in government.

(14,255 posts)Just as nauseating - knowing there are those who eagerly lap it up.
How on earth can they "disqualify" Bernie? Must be figuratively, not literally. I find the assumption that all of his supporters would line up behind Hillary really misplaced hubris, too.

(24,411 posts)it became crystal clear that she doesn't know what she's talking about.
She'll attack and say any old thing.
Her words are a joke when she gets like this.
A good reminder to take her campaign's constant grenades, with the dismissive disdain that they deserve.

What's the point of seeing all of that if you can't respond? This is a message board. If I wanted a one-way, non-interactive, pro-Hillary experience, I could read her press releases. LOL.
