In A Game Of Political Chicken, Hillary Just Swerved Off The Road Into the Abyss

Hillary leaked her campaign strategy of "Destroy and Disqualify" the night of the Wisconsin Primary where Bernie drubbed her with a 57-43 Primary Win.

Remember that people, Destroy and Disqualify.

They announced they were "taking the gloves off", as if they hadn't already, so they could appear "tough" as they went into NY. And with the leak and the announcement, Hillary claimed Parity Unity could come later. In other words, "Party Unity MY ASS! I WANNA WIN!!!!" -- Hillary. I hate to say I told you so DU, but I did. And with this change in attitude, she set herself on a collision course with the Sanders campaign, and ultimately betrayed not only the party, but herself.

As she began throwing the first bombs at Bernie, it was clear it was a concerted effort by her campaign to get the media to use her talking points. This was called out by Thom Hartmann yesterday. And it backfired miserably as a Bernie supporter Nomiki Konst, mind you, not a campaign member, but a SUPPORTER, shot down a CNN grilling yesterday which was, I might say, one of the most beautiful takedowns of a campaigns talking points I have ever seen.

So day 1 of Hillary's "DESTROY AND DISQUALIFY" campaign was starting off pretty rocky. Her campaign all over the road with it.

And then this: Bernie Fights Back! SAY WAH!!!! Indeed, Bernie has always been a fighter for all the good causes. As the saying goes, he fights the good fight. And he's not going to take Hillary's smear campaign sitting down. He fought back with a new campaign speech yesterday, using Hillary's own "qualified" question against her:

"I don't believe that she is qualified if she is, through her super PAC, taking tens of millions of dollars in special-interest funds."

"I don't think that you are qualified if you get 15 million dollars from Wall Street through your Super PAC,"

"I don't think you are qualified if you have voted for the disastrous war in Iraq.

I don't think you are qualified if you've supported virtually every disastrous trade agreement, which has cost us millions of decent paying jobs."

"I don't think that you are qualified if you supported the Panama Free Trade Agreement! Something I very strongly opposed and which, as all of you know has allowed corporations and wealthy people all over the world to avoid paying their taxes to their countries."

And so far the response from Camp Hillary today has ranged from "he's going negative" to "it's sexist". The only problem is, everyone knows Hillary picked a fight she can't win.

Ultimately when two people are competing for the same position, the real reasons why they want that position will ultimately come out. For Bernie, it's the same as it's always been: "we're all in this together. When you hurt, I hurt. When I hurt, you hurt."... he still gives a damn and he's still willing to give up his own time and resources to do that. Like a seasoned boxer, he held his punches, studying his bigger, more aggressive juggernaut-like opponent, letting them take swings that he could deflect or dodge. He waited for his opponent to ultimately tip her hand as to the real reasons she is in this fight: because she wants to win more than anything. She tipped her hand with the statement that "Party Unity can wait"... she doesn't give a damn, she just wants to be President. And she will do or say anything to get it.

Like two cars speeding toward each other in a game of chicken, Sanders was calm and patience won out. He saw that the bombs Hillary threw would do no real damage and he sped right through them. And now when it's clear he's not going to deviate on his immovable path, she swerves... off the road... right into the abyss.

This "movement" seems to be less about those things.

Tearing things down just to tear them down isn't enough.

Issues have been well discussed and fleshed out. The race is close and now it is the political battle, which will have less to do with issue ms and more to do with political play and personality. This isn't your first election is it?

The glass hammer is a bludgeon to soft foes. It thinks itself mighty and brave when it strikes targets that yield. Swing against a hard adversary and the glass hammer shatters into a thousand jagged shards of brittle victimhood.

but the minute that Sanders responds, her campaign and her digital response team suddenly needs a giant fainting couch.

She is unqualified. Hillary may have years of experience in government, but the world is full of terrible people who have impressive resumes.

Yesterday, her entire campaign--including Hillary and her surrogates were out gallivanting on national television, issuing their rancid "Destroy and Disqualify" campaign of hate.

The second that Bernie responds--by talking about how her SuperPac and her Iraq War vote disqualifies her--they're overcome with shock and disbelief.

Oh please.

You want to launch "Destroy and Disqualify"? Reap the consequences. Bernie won't stand by and take it and neither will his supporters.

Check out #HillarySoQualified. Trending and lots of fun responses 20:1 in Bernie's favor.

Not good enough, Hillary. You're going to need to work on better attack material. Unfortunately, for the rest of us, that means more lies. We already know you would've brought something substantive against Sanders if you had it. You don't. You have lies. Bring them at your continued peril.

they do not do well with participatory democracy. They have spent years building a self sufficient power base isolated from the public, and it is obvious they have distain for anyone who asks the wrong questions.
