2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forum"Clinton did, however, decline three times on "Morning Joe" to say that Sanders is qualified."
"Well, I think the interview raised a lot of serious questions," Clinton said. "I think of it this way: The core of his campaign has been 'break up the banks,' and it it didn't seem in reading his answers that he understood exactly how that would work under Dodd-Frank."
Asked again whether Sanders is qualified, Clinton dodged. "Well, I think he hadn't done his homework, and he'd been talking for more than a year about doing things that he obviously hadn't really studied or understood, and that raises a lot of questions," she said.
Asked a third time, Clinton said she would "leave it to voters to decide who of us can do the job the country needs."

(30,058 posts)I have not heard Sanders own up to his false attack on Hillary yesterday. If stacking is disgusting then you have labeled Sanders who does not own up to doing the attacking.

(18,837 posts)The all-caps headline on Huffington Post this morning is "BERNIE DIRTY: HILLARY 'NOT QUALIFIED'"
The excerpt I posted begins on the 8th paragraph.
The three paragraphs that came before it (same URL as OP):
"Hillary Clinton did not say Bernie Sanders was 'not qualified.' But he has now absurdly said it about her. This is a new low," he tweeted.
"Bernie Sanders, take back your words about Hillary Clinton," he said in a follow up tweet.
Taken in the full context, my conclusion was that Senator Sanders defended himself against Hillary's attempted smears and gave some back.
Bernie Sanders is not Marco Rubio. He's not going to stand there while being poked in the chest and called "Little Marco." That expression "Don't poke the bear" is grounded in a lot of wisdom.

(171,066 posts)She inferred he was unqualified, thus his reaction. Much ado unless people actually listen to his extended response.
Hes been talking for more than a year about doing things he, obviously, hadnt really studied or understood, and that does raise a lot of questions," Clinton said.

(2,388 posts)about his accusations that Hillary was not qualified for the presidency.
Bernie said it was simply a response within the context of her accusations
about him, but admitted the whole negative campaigning thing was not
his style and he eventually agreed with Charlie that she was indeed
qualified as was he. It was a tit for tat remark and he regretted it.
Bernie asked Charlie if he was going to have Hillary on and ask her the same
question. He got no answer. Charlie is clearly in Hillary's camp and in
the camp of the status quo in general.
That said, I think Bernie should not respond at all to these kinds of accusatory
statements about him and take the high road. He's taking the bait and it's not
working for him. But never fear. People aren't stupid. They can see through it
all and are more than experienced with the tactics of negative politics.
