Momentum is clearly gone from Romney/Ryan now

The first debate energized the dispirited knee-jerk Obama-haters who were dismayed at the buffoon that Romney portrayed himself as throughout the summer. Romney caught fire for a week, but it was mainly due to his own base finally supporting him as they would have a Santorum or a Bachmann or another one of those True Believer types.

But Romney never made seriously inroads with those outside his base. He could never pull ahead in battleground Southern states like VA and FL. At best, he could only close in to within a few points in OH and WI and NV and such.

And now, it's been 3 debates in a row in which Romney/Ryan have been unable to adequately defend themselves from the Obama/Biden onslaught. From Ryan's water drinking to Romney's Libya flub to Horses-and-Bayonets, that ticket has been looking less presidential by the passing week.

There's nothing left for Romney to seize the narrative again. Maybe a super-weak jobs report in early November? But no jobs report, good or bad, has significantly changed the race thus far.

Romney's hit his ceiling, and it's still not enough to beat Obama.

And attempt to become a dove during the foreign policy debate will turn off any of his supporters.

But hard to know whether Glenn Beck will carry through with that.

He is a bit crazy after all.

One would think that the rest of the base isn't happy with this new moderate Romney either.

As Chris Matthews said tonight.

Many of them will vote for Romney anyway, even though they don't like him.

The right-wing is good at getting their base to hate the Democratic President (like they did with Bill Clinton).

They don't care if their candidate is bad, as long as they can convince the base to vote for him.

That's why nothing can be taken for granted!

We have 2 more weeks of hard work left to ensure an Obama win!

Saying Beck is a "bit crazy" is a boldly stated underestimation of what he is!

If you watch polls closely you know that Romney's momentum has stalled....and Obama is still in the lead where it counts.

Yet they're getting on TV acting like Romney is still surging in the polls. He's not.
