(7,231 posts)the candidate with all the flaws and all the disqualifications. You would have to be extremely privileged to want to risk the future on the nation on her ambitions.
RobertEarl
(13,685 posts)And the most vetted candidate being as he has been attacked by the establishment and come through looking even better.
He's also been getting more and more votes as people become aware of him, unlike his opposition that has been losing votes.
We are very lucky as Democrats to have someone of his caliber running for our party's nomination. He makes Democrats look good.
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)Weaver is not a force for good in that campaign.
joshcryer
(62,271 posts)I fully believe going into that speech he thought Clinton explicitly called him unqualified. As a candidate you have to trust the info being given.

You have nothing.

(17,796 posts)are part of the reason people don't trust Hillary. So keep up the good work and have a lovely night.
DemocracyDirect
(708 posts)Great!
DavidDvorkin
(19,479 posts)Just as it has regarding Hillary's supposedly calling Sanders unqualified.
He fell on his face. His supporters should just admit it and stop trying to twist other people's words.
DemocracyDirect
(708 posts)Or you can just look at post #10 for the video and see for yourself.
Have a great day!
DavidDvorkin
(19,479 posts)There's nothing in the video that supports Sanders' claim. He's being a fool.
Agschmid
(28,749 posts)So who knows what was really said, but it certainly wasn't the candidate saying it at a rally like Bernie did.
revbones
(3,660 posts)Get real. They wouldn't cite something that wasn't at least somewhat safe and vetted.
Besides, the guy being interviewed that said it - at the beginning of the video doesn't it say he's from the campaign?
Agschmid
(28,749 posts)I don't think the genetleman in the video works for a campaign I think he is just a reporter.
DemocracyDirect
(708 posts)... and yeah just about all the slime coming at Bernie comes from anonymous sources.
But it sounds a lot more like it's coming from David Brock.
But he wouldn't admit to that or it might seem like he and his SuperPAC are colluding with Hillary Clinton's campaign.

(67,406 posts)DemocracyDirect
(708 posts)I guess you are suggesting he lied.
I hope he did lie, because the way he was bristling in his report, he looked like he was as angry as the campaign people would be about Bernie's win in Wisconsin. It seemed over the top.
See the video in post #10 above.

I hear the weather report in hell is not expecting a light dusting so I don't expect her to do that.
When you go there, don't be coy when you are hit back. This is one of those unwritten rules of politics.

(68,868 posts)People will all be able to see she never said he was not qualified.
He was too quick on the draw and shot himself in the foot.
If he isn't careful Obama could endorse Hillary.

(68,868 posts)He is in for a very, very bad day tomorrow.
Obama never crossed the line Bernie just jumped across.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)or am in a bubble. History in this case is quite frankly prologue.
Sorry that painting him as a weak candidate did not work, really. This was what destroying and unqualifying him was about, She did the same with Obama
here a more recent tale of this
...
And in the ensuing two and a half weeks leading up to the pivotal contest in South Carolina, issues of race remained front and center with a boost from Hillary Clinton herself as Obama campaign allies expressed outrage.
The day after Obamas landslide South Carolina victory, the bitterness came to a head when President Clinton appeared to dismiss the result as an all but inevitable outcome in a state where a majority of the voters were African-American, noting that Jesse Jackson had twice won South Carolina.

I am seeing 2008 redux... and truly, it is not fun. Or if you consider a root canal fun, I suppose it is.
geek tragedy

nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)and this quite frankly this is going to CA... hell my vote will count for far more than just the minimum wage... we rarely matter.
Oy
I know this is not something, to use your words, you want to understand, since you are indeed in a bubble. In some ways this is where Clinton (bill for the kids) was in 1992.
geek tragedy
(68,868 posts)He's not winning 75% of the vote there. A

(9,314 posts)It was indeed leaked Hillary was going to "disqualify" him and it was an intern who worked in her campaign that leaked it, among other things.
Bernie would have been perceive as weak to allow his opponent to in any way attack him and not respond in kind. I think his response was intended to demonstrate that he will not lie down and let her walk all over him. He said from the beginning he wanted to run a clean campaign, and that he has always done that in Vermont. He has let some little cuts slide, but it is a whole new ballgame now and the rules have changed.
Kudos to Bernie for standing up for himself.

(1,947 posts)He will only win his home state. He will be gone by Iowa . Wait until super Tuesday. Wait until march 15th , now NY .. I'd get out of the prediction business if I were you guys. But hey, like your candidate, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Bonobo
(29,257 posts)And don't pretend that she hasn't sent out the message that Bernie is not qualified, or I won't waste time discussing it with you.
joshcryer
(62,271 posts)But not explicitly. The words spoken by Sanders tonight are literally a Trump campaign ad. Sanders went a bit overboard and will back down and he knows it.

(1,511 posts)Prediction: a "statement" made about the future.
and I can clarify that...
Statement: a message that is stated or declared; a communication (oral or written) setting forth particulars or facts etc.
Yall can't we have less opinion based threads? Just signed up here after it took forever to get the verification code so I want to reply to substance, or threads with details. (I wonder if anyone else is having that issue, sent an email to every one listed on the help pages and luckily someone saw it... hope the new member system is not down)
My prediction is that I will say I have no clue as to what is going to happen since they just went negative, and not sure if they are too emotional to back down, or if they have said to heck with it I am all in...plus it seems both parties would have to agree.
joshcryer
(62,271 posts)Technically I'm wrong if by morning is over in ET timezone.

(1,511 posts)The parties do tend to do full introspection in a day, so turn around is possible, but they just went nuclear in the HRC with the Sandyhook thing, so I feel it is a bit too hot to claim anything...plus if someone started waving around victims bodies like political flags it would be stepping over a line I may take a few days to come down from. I just want links...but not right now, it is late, now I just want sleep...

(2,902 posts)since it's against a woman. It's a lose-lose situation for that non-Democrat.
revbones
(3,660 posts)It's a win-win for him.
She has to respond to say she's qualified - like she wanted Bernie to have to respond. Her camp just didn't expect him to punch back and turn it around.
delrem
(9,688 posts)He has been total kid gloves, so far.
It's time that the question of who is actually "qualified" to be POTUS should be addressed.
I think the first point should be foreign policy, which Hillary Clinton puts as being to her advantage, she being ex-SOS.
So let's examine how her contributions to Iraq, Libya, Syria, the cluster bombing of Yemen, make her more qualified to be POTUS.
Let's start there.
Then maybe we can get into investment banking vis-a-vis war profiteering.
Or do you prefer a coronation of the queen of the neocon movement?

This is who he is.

(62,271 posts)The instances are numerous, from the hack, to the NH debate (Sanders was going to pull a Trump), to Planned Parenthood.
He's feeding Sanders shit info and shit talking points.
Kalidurga
(14,177 posts)I would be thinking of ways to hit her harder. Like being more explicit about Hillary's ties to the Panama Papers and her speech to that German Bank that made billions and paid her hundreds of thousands of dollars for a speech.
joshcryer

(62,271 posts)And they're using social media as their metric.
But Sanders has a moral compass that most politicians don't have.
He'll recognize he was misled going in to that speech and correct his mistake.
Bank on it.
That's why I supported Sanders (and still do, though I recognize he's lost), he has integrity. He will back down. Despite Weaver's protest, despite Tad Devine's dirty politics. The first time he is asked, in an interview, in a few more hours this morning, he will rebuke his earlier comments.
Luminous Animal
(27,310 posts)joshcryer
(62,271 posts)But hashtags don't determine Sanders' integrity.
Luminous Animal
(27,310 posts)And Bernie needs to apologize for stating flat out what she was too chicken shit to put in plain language?
Yay the internet for taking her down.

As far as I can see, they're sticking with it. I think Bernie is incapable of telling a lie, that's why he can't walk it back, she isn't qualified.

joshcryer
(62,271 posts)And I still hold out that he'll make a statement regarding this. It'll certainly come up at the debates.
it needs to come up. Her errors in judgment need to be brought out again and again.
joshcryer
(62,271 posts)Sanders has more integrity in his pinky than a large number of those attributing a horrible character to him, gleefully embracing the politics of the nasty.
I have yet to be wrong about my judgement of his character, and that's why I love the man. And that's also why I crack up about contested conventions, and other absurdities.
