MATH Matters, chanting does not
Usually, when Hillary supporters chant "Math, math, math, math!" The point the are trying to make is the opposite of what the "Math" says.
The math, as it stands, is clear. Hillary has a formidable lead. Bernie needs about 56% of the remaining pledged delegates (still) to secure a majority of the pledged delegates. For the sake of argument, let's assume this is Bernie's only viable path to the nomination -- he secures the majority of pledged delegates and enough super delegates support that result to give him the nomination. Indeed, neither candidate will likely reach 2,383 (total majority) on pledged delegates alone.
What the math says, then, is that it is still possible for Bernie to win. It is mathematically possible for him to hit that mark. Is it likely? Probably not. It's going to be very hard to make happen. He has to nearly run the board. But that is not a mathematics analysis, that is a political analysis. Even if the politics said "Impossible," the math says the opposite, "Possible."
And looking ahead, if Bernie rolls into June 7 still needing 56% of the remaining pledged delegates, he is still mathematically viable. 694 pledged delegates are at stake. A lot of math to be had.
