which strongly favors Bernie.

For another, if Hillary loses, even if just by a few points in NY, she will be seen as losing her "home" state.

Demographics heavily favor Clinton. Closed primary and well ahead in the polls everytime. Even a 1 point loss by Sanders would put the final nail in the coffin for his campaign.

in NY. He was behind by 35 points just two weeks ago. According to the latest NY Dem polls, he's behind by 10. That's a 25-point increase in a short amount of time.

Plus, he's got a huge crowds and enthusiasm. 18,000 in the Bronx. We still have a big debate in NY, plus he has major rallies planned for NY. He's got an entire week to focus on NY, and momentum from the WI and WY wins.

That was an outlier and even still she is solidly winning. NH PA and MD will go heavily for Clinton..

19. There were a few polls showing Hillary with very large leads
Tue Apr 5, 2016, 11:31 PM
Apr 2016

and those 20+ leads have evaporated

It's a ten-point game now. And we've got a lot of time to go. Time always favors Bernie Sanders.

March 14-16 Emerson poll had Hillary up 48 points (71 to 23)

March 3 Siena Poll had Hillary up 21 points (55-34)

According to the last two polls, it's a 10-point race. The latest 4/1 CBS polls shows a 10-point game (53/43).

Anyway you slice it--Bernie has made significant gains.

And I find it completely disingenuous, that now it's fair game to call that Emerson poll an "outlier" when a couple of weeks ago that poll was posted on DU probably 50 times, and used to justify Bernie dropping out now, because he wasn't going to be trounced in NY. You guys can't have it both ways.

Bernie is gaining in NY. He's only just begun campaigning in the state. Furthermore, it's a real contest in NY, in a state where she was a Senator. This is not ideal for her, at all.

And Bernie will bring that up very hard in the NY debate.
NY is anti-fracking paradise and it is a red button issue there.
Hillary sold fracking around the globe.

It's about as relevant as Clinton being born in Illinois, which didn't give her an advantage. Clinton representing New York in the Senate for 8 years is actually an advantage.

It's really disheartening how many people never have a clue who their Representative or Senators are. Although, admittedly she was a celebrity Senator, so more people would have been aware of her than is usual.

I have heard it said that she is widely disliked Upstate, but I cannot source that.

I do agree, that to most New Yorkers, Bernies NY origin won't matter much. They'll vote for him based on his policies.

He hasn't lived there in many years. It's quite ridiculous to count Clinton out in New York because Sanders was born there, but whatever.
