Clinton campaign says Sanders 'rejected' New York debate dates

NEW YORK — Hillary Clinton's campaign said Saturday that rival Bernie Sanders has rejected three proposed debate dates ahead of the New York primary on April 19 — marking the latest dustup in an increasingly heated fight for the Democratic nomination.

But Clinton said in an interview that will air Sunday on NBC's "Meet The Press" that "I'm confident we will" have a debate.

"Our campaigns are trying to reach an agreement about that. We've offered dates and we've done it over the last several weeks, so we've been trying to figure out when we could do this. But there's a lot to talk about," Clinton told moderator Chuck Todd. "I'm confident that there will be," she said in the interview.

Clinton's campaign said in a statement Saturday that it offered April 4 as the first potential date, but the Sanders team wanted instead to schedule the debate after the Wisconsin primary on April 5. Clinton officials then suggested April 14 and April 15 as possibilities and are hopeful Sanders will come to accept one of these dates.

How silly. This just shows how stupid her campaign think people are, they are well aware Bernie has a big rally planned on the 14th. I think this ploy will backfire on them.

their petty demands? There is no reason for him to do that. Her campaign said no on the dates his campaign suggested. Speaking of managing the Presidency, Hillary's behavior here is not presidential at all.

it reminded me of the times she lost it in 08 when she ran against and lost to Obama

Friday Night. Seems like a good opportunity to show the debate on Big Screens in Central Park and than have the rally afterwards.

Like when Hillary's delegates don't show up like they didn't in Nevada. For debates? No problem they don't need to see that stuff.

in Manhattan for a specific time.

Bernie counter-offered the 13th but Clinton declined.

You really don't get to pick and choose when an opportunity to debate becomes available.

I have seen some Hillary supporters buy into this so It is not that her campaign think people are, they know some people are stupid. It just it only works on people who already worship her.

"...Clinton told NBC's "Meet The Press" that "I'm confident we will" have a debate.

"Our campaigns are trying to reach an agreement about that. We've offered dates and we've done it over the last several weeks, so we've been trying to figure out when we could do this. Clinton officials then suggested April 14 and April 15 as possibilities and are hopeful Sanders will come to accept one of these dates.

The proposed debate on April 15 would be on ABC's "Good Morning America," Fallon explained, but "that, too, was rejected."

"Unfortunately, the dates and venues [Clinton] has proposed don't make a whole lot of sense," Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs responded in a statement. "The idea that they want a debate in New York on a night of the NCAA finals — with Syracuse in the tournament, no less — is ludicrous. We have proposed other dates, which they have rejected. We hope we can reach agreement in the near future." "

Funny. I'm on left coast so would have to watch the debate on Good Morning America at 6 AM. really...

that she doesn't have to do two things in one day. Or maybe it's just a petty ploy on her campaigns behalf since she had agreed to more debates, he just wanted the dates set up and agreed on. Nothing ridiculous about it.
