I bet you even a brain-dead voter would say no if asked, "Do you think we should increase military spending by $2T like Romney is proposing?"

Ipsos projects Obama will carry hotly contested states such as Florida, Ohio and Virginia, for a relatively comfortable electoral college victory.

That's good news, but I don't see any Ipsos state polls anywhere. Does anyone know where this is coming from?

They must be basing their projections on something.

6. For one, they provide context for state polls--a kind of sanity check.

Also, a legitimacy issue.

The most important thing is that Obama stay in office. Without a doubt.

But, would Obama greatly prefer to win the popular vote? Absolutely--that would help in his dealings with House Republicans.

12. Something is weird about timing of polls

It seems like every time there is a state poll that comes out where Obama is ahead, another one comes out either the same day or the following day that has him tied or behind. Probably just a coincidence, but funny how it works to keep the poll aggregates at a tight margin.

13. There just seems to be too many weird polls in the mix this year.

You have one pollster showing Obama leading in four states, then one poll showing him tied in Ohio.

The whole Romney gaining then only applies to Ohio.

At the national level, Gallup is serving this purpose, keeping the race close. Then a few polls effectively begin countering that, and another poll comes out with weird results.

There are so many people listening to the MSM who are literally in a panic.
