Related: About this forumSo this is why she snapped at that young lady asking about Fossil Fuel Donations...
She was just tired of having to try and dodge the question when it keeps being asked. All they want is for her to sign a pledge stating she will not take money from the fossil fuel industry. Why that is so hard is beyond me.

(7,321 posts)The vid and the activists asking on more than one occasion I heard the figure $150,000. Scratching my head, in the world of unlimited campaign funding from industry's like the Fossil Fuel, but $150,000 is what they wipe their behinds with
Even $145 Million isn't that much to them, but it's significant enough when it comes to funding election campaigns.
And she doesn't know anything about it.
The Clinton Foundation is heavily invested and connected to these industries, of course she's aware of BIG OIL money being funneled into her campaign.

Why can people just let her have her way?! It's her turn, dammit!

(24,411 posts)This video demonstrates that people have been asking her about taking fossil-fuel industry money for months!
So many times she gives the same dismissive line about not knowing that she's taken money from fossil-fuel lobbyists. I'll bet she never anticipated that someone would make a video that clearly shows that she's been asked about this many times. She never bothers to look into this and come up with a decent, honest answer!
She knows exactly what she's doing. Accepting campaign bribes from Big Energy just like she does with Wall Street.
And she doesn't give a rip that countless Americans care about this critical issue and they want answers!
She doesn't have answers. Just abrasive accusations and lies!

So while it does not come from the company, but its employees, as Hillary Clinton said of her fossil fuel receipts, the pressure from the company is what prompts many to donate.

(9,314 posts)This is the third time in 2 days I have been insulted as a presumed Hillary supporter. Does this happen to other people as well?
To tell you the truth (I didn't want to specifically say this before, but I will now) I saw this at law firms. Lobbyists are sometimes a part of a law firm -- a totally different section, lobbyists on one side, attorneys on the other. Lobbyists actually draft a lot of legislation -- literally write it.
I personally saw people being pressured to donate to candidates they did not support. I believe this happens in large corporations as well. What does one do when one makes a lot of money in his or her profession and his or her boss tells him or her much their share is -- say no? I don't think so.

(16,189 posts)Top executives "asked" to donate $10,000 EACH to contribute to a PAC for the despicable and corrupt Tom Delay.
They go along with it.
Even a person who hated Delay and voted democrat, still donated. Multiple years.
Not always cowardice or fear for their position either. There's personal loyalties, perception of need for favors for the corporation or fear that the company will get retribution from a powerful politician.

(24,411 posts)are Executive Vice Presidents and decision makers at the top.
"Employee" is a euphemism when it come to the reality here. These are not dishwashers and personal assistants from the fossil-fuel industry who are sending her cash.
These are executives and people with $300,000+ salaries and perks; and they want a candidate who will keep them in their current lifestyle.
I have no problem with executives or big salaries. But we're talking influence peddling here--and it's the country-club set from the fossil-fuel industry that is sending her donations and funding her campaign. Not blue-collar workers.

To prove to people that shes really serious about keeping fossil fuels in the ground, she needs to stop taking that money today.
Today, I said to Hillary, Thank you for tackling climate change. Will you act on your words and reject future fossil fuel money in your campaign? I was genuinely shocked by her response. But I want to make sure we are focused on the issue at hand: asking our candidates to take a stand to Fix our Democracy. Rejecting fossil fuel money sends a strong signal.

(4,558 posts)I wonder just for a second just how the Sanders supporters would react to Hillary supporters going to his pontificating dramatizations of fictional promises and ambushing him with questions?
How well would his minions take someone jumping on him when he's greeting his supporters with questions like
"how exactly are you going to keep your promises with the landscape of the 115th congress Senator?"
"Why have you been so cozy to the gun Lobby Senator?"
"If as President you are going to pass all these measures, why haven't you, as a Senator, actually proposed the bills you think you can pass as a President?"
"Explain some of those papers's you've written in the past Senator?"
"What do you think are the odds of you being able to keep all, or even some of your campaign promises Senator?"
Yeah, I bet there'd be all the questions here on why the Senator would snap at the Hillary supporters ambushing him.
Since this thing began I've been committed to voting to whomever the (D) candidate is. I'm now thinking I'm agreeing with those Sanders supporters who are more committed to voting more on the person that they think is best in the GE regardless of what letter they have by their name if he wins.
