(2,353 posts)It is like when Sanders grilled Greenspan about how he lives in a bubble of affluence and cocktail circuits and has no clue how the average American is struggling while he proclaims the economy is roaring.

(62,444 posts)She's running for president, for crying out loud.
Do you have any idea how stressful that must be?
Why burden her with other people's problems? Don't be so selfish.

(11,605 posts)I think she may sometimes sell out the 99% to please her donors, but I don't think that means she has no empathy for regular people. I have seen her in interactions while campaigning that make me believe she does genuinely feel empathy when she meets someone who is struggling. That doesn't mean she will always put that person's interests first, but I do think she cares.

(16,120 posts)out of the 1% that I don't think she even has a frame of reference for those of us who don't travel with minions to do all the messy day to day stuff of life anymore.
It isn't as much lack of empathy as it is not even being a consideration.
Recently, Chelsea made a statement about not being "able" to care about money. Well, that's pretty easy if you've never been without it.
Far too many of those who are in charge have zero idea what is to live paycheck to paycheck, much less wonder how you are going to pay for emergencies or whatnot.
