Sanders supporter: Bill Clinton blocked 17,000 people from voting in MA

That was roughly the margin by which Hillary beat Bernie in Massachusetts. And the lawsuit claims that's how many people Bill Clinton single-handedly prevented from voting with his Godzilla-like body. Something straight out of science fiction. #Berniemath

Invoking voting rights laws and precedents commonly cited in such cases, a group of Bernie Sanders supporters who voted for Sanders in the Massachusetts Primary on March 1st are confronting what they say was illegal campaigning by Bill Clinton on behalf of Hillary Clinton. On that Tuesday, known as "Super Tuesday," reports emerged, to the consternation of Sanders supporters, that Bill Clinton was illegally campaigning within 150 feet of polling stations during voting hours, in some cases walking inside the stations, all of which Massachusetts law expressly prohibits. Laws governing how close to a polling station one can campaign on voting days are similar in all 50 states.

A draft copy of a civil action posted in a Drop Box account states:

"On March 1st, “Super Tuesday” in the Massachusetts Democratic primary...Bill Clinton, did disenfranchise a large group of voters by diluting their votes through illegal campaign activity in and near polling stations. This disenfranchisement was deliberate, carefully crafted, and effective."

The voters contend that far more than being a nuisance and exhibiting thoughtless disregard for the law, Clinton's actions were:

"carefully and deliberately calibrated to impact the electoral battlefield in such a way that the entire course of future primaries was affected."

The lawsuit takes note that throughout the day of the Massachusetts primary, Clinton and Sanders were "neck and neck," according to NBC News, with Sanders at one point pulling ahead. Boston Patch reporter Alison Bauter wrote afterwards that Massachusetts was considered by some to be a "must-win" for Sanders, as any momentum he had might have had would be stopped by a loss there. In the end Clinton won seven out of 11 races in states which were voting on that day, with Sanders taking four.

He made people wait longer. I'm sure some couldn't stay. Is that sour grapes to you? It's bullshit, and I hope the Bernie people win this. If the Clinton's cheat, they are cheating US. US as in those who are being asked to support the person who cheated on US. We're not fools.

So if he prevented those people from voting, he prevented CLINTON supporters from voting.

Sanders did well on the Cape and in the West--and Clinton didn't go anywhere near those spots.

This is both sick and sad, that the Sanders camp would stoop this low. I hope this is a retread and not recent, because if it's recent, it's suggestive of flopsweat desperation and a desire to throw anything up against the wall in frantic, flailing hopes that it will stick. Maybe someone with the initials TD wants to keep that gravy train rolling for another couple of months, and he thinks "scorched earth" is the way to do it...?

TD can go back to his little firm, but BS has to go back to the Senate. If he's too much of an asshole, he won't even have a committee assignment. The Schumer Of New York giveth, and the Schumer of New York taketh away (because Harry Reid is out the door pretty soon). And Schumer liked his former Senate partner in the NY delegation.

One lawsuit after another, whining and complaining about everything. Playing the victim will do nothing more than take away any respect anyone ever had for Senator Sanders.

There is no way any candidate's spouse would keep people from voting, as there is no way for them to know for sure that they aren't preventing someone from voting for their wife or husband. Just as there is no way they could know who was supporting Bernie to send letters sending them to the wrong address, or fix the voting registrations, or reducing the amount of polling places. It makes absolutely no sense.

It would not take 17,000 votes, that is the margin of the popular vote. He would have needed 8534 to win the popular vote. The delegate split was 46,45. Depending on the breakdown, he might have won on delegates by the vote in one precinct.

I said that is the number of votes Bernie would have needed to win the popular vote, not the 17,000 you noted. That is not the same as delegate distribution. One precinct could have determined that.

The plaintiffs in the suit are as of yet unnamed, but say they will be filing this coming week, in Boston Federal Court. They are asking a judge to invalidate the Massachusetts results in punishment for Clinton's actions, exacerbated by his long reach, and to award the Massachusetts pledged delegates to Bernie Sanders. The plaintiffs argue:

What would justify throwing all of those delegates to Bernie unless somehow 17,000 voters were prevented from casting ballots?

The idiot who drafted these pleadings is not a lawyer. These pleadings are really sad. I doubt that this lawsuit will get filed in that any lawyer or pro se plaintiff who files this lawsuit will be subject to sanctions.
