In early polling news for the day, some good news and some bad news...

Since I like to end on a high note, first, the bad news:

Apparently, the Rand tracking poll, which had moved Obama out to a 50-44 lead yesterday, tightened to 49-46. (This was posted in the comments section of DKos's latest Polling Wrap, so no link.)

Now, the good news:

We have a brand new (non-tracking) national poll! It's from the University of Connecticut/Hartford Courant, and also shows Obama in the lead, once again by three points (48-45).

I'm sure we'll get plenty more today.

I don't know if it is just random or the result of something in how they poll their population or in the interplay of external events, but every 6-8 days the rand poll seems to have an up day for Romney. I don't know enough about it to make any conclusion yet.
