Related: About this forumNot enough ballots for you to vote
I'm going to chime in about this until I am hoarse.
We do not *NEED* this as a precedent for how to steal an election.

(65,457 posts)ignoring this is like ignoring voter ID laws it does one thing - wears you down so that you do not vote.

(39,961 posts)to keep pointing this out.
It's not something I wish to do, but, damn.
Somebody has to do it!

(39,451 posts)happens in the primaries in Tempe, Tucson, Flagstaff - our college towns. And since Bernie is overwhelmingly getting the millennial vote, it would not surprise me one bit.

If nobody gives a shit, I really don't want to hear them complaining to me when they are swearing in President Cruz.

(28,749 posts)Why wait until after the fact?
What can we do to make sure it doesn't happen? Change.org petitions? Email Bernie and Hillary?
What's the plan.

(39,961 posts)President Cruz or President Trump.
Are you chastising me for sounding the alarm?
When should it have been sounded?
It was sounded during Gore vs. Bush and nobody listened.
I'm just here sounding it again.

(28,749 posts)I'm with you, running out of ballots is ludicrous.
But posting on DU won't really solve it, we need to get the campaigns involved BEFORE it happens.

(39,961 posts)a poll watch contingent or committee or whatever in my precinct.
Organizing shit like this is hardly my strong point.
If I can even try it, better suited folks can do so, too.

(3,655 posts)when they don't get to vote. Suddenly, it is a big issue. Now we will have to see if they are willing to set aside their tax cut demands to pay for a switch from caucuses to primaries.

(3,655 posts)Republicans in my state are all outraged because the issue now falls on their doorstep. They had no problem when Democratic voters were disenfranchised. They even took part in the voter caging. They have no one to blame but themselves for this one.
I totally agree with you about about the sad state of affairs in our election system. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)to try to take on a task like this, but somebody has to do it.
Mnpaul
(3,655 posts)and I appreciate you bringing it up. It should be a non partisan issue but I guess it is only important to some if they aren't on the winning side. I expect this election to be an ugly one.

(39,961 posts)this has to do with the dress rehearsal for the General at this point.
If a precinct runs out of damn ballots during the primary, do the math. That is exactly what will happen in the general.
It's ugly, it's voter suppression, and every single one of us needs to figure out how we can avoid President Trump or :shudder: President Cruz due to lack of ballots.
I don't want to see this sort of crap get pulled in the GE.

(94,665 posts)...are you suggesting that Sanders isn't as prescient as you are?

(4,482 posts)Our county and the judge of elections knows exactly how many people are registered at each polling place. There is no excuse for not having sufficient ballots available.
Aerows
(39,961 posts)Because that is all that it is, interfering in the voting process.
I frankly don't care who you want to vote for, no matter how ill-made your choice might be - you still have the right to vote.
I doubt many Republicans would be that charitable, but I am a Democrat. I think DEMOCRACY should take place, and people should be allowed to vote.
You have got to be kidding me if you think that there aren't voter rolls and somehow nobody got enough ballots at the polls.
I was born at night - but it wasn't last night.
