2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumPlease understand, Hillary supporters......
.....that if Hillary wins the nomination and then the election, you are going to be doing battle arguably for years and years and years. Battle that will make anything that she has faced in the past mere child's play.
Unfortunately all of America -- and even the world -- will suffer as a result of the intractable fight against her that will explode on every side.
So, if you are working for Hillary's election, best eat your Cheerios and get on the treadmill and start lifting some weights and taking your vitamins. It won't be over til it's over. No slacking!

(59,058 posts)I assumed we would not seem the same old crap from the Republicans when Obama was elected, but we did. So don't think for one moment Sanders would have an easy life as POTUS.

(31,700 posts)Forget the actual Democrats who are active in the Democratic Party. Her Wall Street money will protect her from the endless string of scandals, one of which has already started, right now.
Or we could just nominate a popular and completely uncorruptible politician, instead. Who has hoards of people (not oligarchs) protecting him.

(960 posts)If we have to believe the fairy tails that her Cheersquad is putting out. Meanwhile (you might have missed it) Bernie is saying that he cannot do it alone..and that this is a revolution that would require a democratic majority in the house and senate.
The shape shifter that she is I expect her to bring that point up as novel and her own in the next weeks or so..meanwhile she is peddling her great relationship with the other side...I guess since they are both getting money from the same sources.

(12,081 posts)Bernie, Bernie supporters, and the Republicans. I'm sure they are chopping at the bit to fight the Republicans to redeem her reputation. Too bad they don't seem to have much fight in them when you mention passing actual legislation such as single payer healthcare. That's too much to fight for. Then it's "no we can't."

(50,130 posts)...because Hillary has burned way too many bridges to be able to count on Bernie supporters to prop her up in the WH.

(30,481 posts)Strong as hell and walk out the door every day ready to take on whatever comes our way. And when it gets tough, we band together to multiply our strength. We respect our individuality but it is our sense of community and loyalty to one and other that exponentially increases our strength.
We are the last group needing to be "warned" of the fight ahead.

(19,877 posts)Just like any other Democrat would. Theres a reason theyre called extremists and rightwing nut jobs.

(5,636 posts)Sanders moved to Vermont 50 years ago, so we have no idea how he would be able to handle being a target of the right wing. He's been pretty much a party of one, so the right-wing has largely ignored him.

Right Wing = piece of cake.
One thing you have to concede about Sanders, he IS tough enough.

(31,700 posts)It's been kid gloves. You're apparently never been through a REAL tough campaign.

(31,700 posts)But there really isn't anything to attack Sanders on so Clinton had to run a wedge campaign, like she did against Obama in 2008.

(59,058 posts)This primary has been so mild. If you guys are so thin-skinned you'll never survive a general election, much less four years in the White House.
