Worf was always getting his ass kicked. The Kingon empire always ends up losing to the Federation. Rodenberry's universe is very, very "whtie hat black hat" (I think TOS even had a world defined by colored haberdashery.) Klingons lose because klingons are militaristic and militarism is bad.

But as we agree, I'm not the biggest Trekkie, so maybe there's new stuff I've missed.
