Here is a regional breakdown between Gallup & IBD/TIPP Tracking Polls...

IBD/TIPP:

REGION
Northeast 54% 37% 8% (Obama +17)

Midwest 45% 46% 7% (Romney +1)

South 43% 50% 5% (Romney +7)

West 49% 44% 6% (Obama +5)

Gallup:
Obama Romney Margin
.
East 52 48 O+4
.
Midwest 52 48 O+4
.
South 39 61 R+22
.
West 53 47 O+6

The numbers for Gallup in the Northeast are nuts. The Northeast has New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine...all strong Obama states and yet Gallup wants us to believe Obama is only leading by 4 in that region?

Are these defined similarly? Maybe Gallup includes more states in the East....

Seems silly to include the South since there is no chance Obama takes any of it (maybe Florida??). Gallup seems heavily weighted on the South states. How odd.

Also their East must be including more states than IBD.
