Obama killed among indies and moderates tonights
Don't let those relatively slim (for a total butt-kicking) margins in the CNN and the PPP polls fool you. For one, CNN oversampled Republicans by 8% and Obama still came out with a strong margin of victory.
Also, the PPP Colorado polls had Obama winning among moderates 58-33 or something along those lines.
And the CBS poll of undecided voters also had Obama winning by 20 points or so.
I don't think that 100% of the damage from the first debate can be undone. Romney's performance energized those voters who, for whatever reason be it racial or cultural or age-based, were never going to vote for Obama yet weren't enthused about Romney. These people are the ones driving the Romney surge.
But Obama killed it among the reasonable persuadable voters tonight. It's been two massacres for the Romney/Ryan ticket, and they still don't have any credible answers to their most glaring weaknesses on the "47%" and their non-existent tax plan. They won't last much longer, as we have seen even Fox News become exasperated at their untrustworthy slipperiness.
Tonight was a great night, my friends!
