Strange Bill Clinton quote regarding immigration.

From a campaign appearance today, regarding animosity towards immigrants by Trump supporters...

"You're not happy. Let me tell you who to blame. Let's build a wall around the country. Let's blame the Mexicans. But there's a problem with blaming the Mexicans — they've been going home to Mexico since 2010 and we haven't had an increase in undocumented immigrants," Clinton told about 400 people at the Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Maywood.

Home to Mexico? What is he getting at here? It certainly does not seem to be in keeping with Hillary's stated support for ending deportation and pathways to citizenship.

Why wouldn't Mexicans in this country consider the United States as "home"?

But there's obviously an overlap with the Obama administration's mass deportation.

Makes you wish you could be there to ask for clarification.
