Gohmert spoke with Florida talk radio host Joyce Kaufman who said that all the crony capitalism in Washington has driven voters to Sanders, whom she claimed was reading from the Communist Manifesto in a recent debate.
Thats also because we let some of the hippies from the 60s who created such chaos then start teaching the teachers, Gohmert said, and teaching them how great socialism is and just rewriting history and keeping them from realizing socialism has never worked, it will never work in this world, in this life, because if youre going to pay everybody the same thing then theyre going to quit working.
He added that the survival of the country is really hanging in the balance.

(46,179 posts)I can't be a "hippie from the 60s," because I was just a kid. But as a teacher, I'll say this: If only those "hippies" were in charge of education, instead of the corporate deform movement, our system would be a hell of a lot healthier.

(24,010 posts)And we need to seriously look into the e-vote counting machines, all over the country, run on 'TRADE SECRET' programming code--code that the public is forbidden to review--owned and controlled by a handful of far rightwing-connected corporations like ES&S/Diebold, and often (about half the states in the country) with NO AUDIT WHATSOEVER (comparison of electronic results with ballots) and the other half with only a miserably inadequate 1% audit.
Something's not right with this 8%-approval rating Congress. Something's not right with total rw assholes becoming governor of progressive states like Wisconsin. Something's not right with many state legislatures where the most insane proposals are put forward, and many vote suppression laws are passed.
We will always have a few fascist nutballs here and there, but their prevalence is NOT consistent with the views of most Americans.
