Sanders just gained about 6 statewide delegates in Polk County, Iowa (Clinton lost 6 too) Updated

Note that this is a fast breaking story which will probably contain updates in the future.

Whatever the reason (switched votes, bad original counting by the party, people not showing up), when delegates gathered in Polk County today in Iowa to cast their votes for the Democratic Party nomination for President, Bernie Sanders won the count 532 to 519 (perhaps 600-530?). This was a shock because according to the Iowa Democratic Party, Clinton won this most populous county (Des Moines) with 53.2% of the delegates.

The Clinton people allegedly tried to tell the Sanders people to go home, that the count was over. Some Sanders people left, then the Clinton people called for more counts. The Sanders people tried to stay, but the final count ended up at Clinton 511, Sanders 503, with a 114-114 statewide delegate split for Polk County (Update, actually 115-113 Clinton). Even if you go with the last count (with all its problems), that is 7 6 less STATEWIDE delegates for Clinton and 7 6 more for Sanders than what would have happened with a Clinton 53.2% lead. The total statewide delegates on election night were calculated to be Clinton 701, Sanders 697. However, with this change, it would put it at Sanders, 703, Clinton 695, suggesting Sanders might be currently winning Iowa. We won’t know until the state convention for sure, but it looks like a pretty big coup for the Sanders campaign.

That time it cost Santorum the nom since he didn't have the momentum he would have. Hopefully it goes the other way this time.

What the hell is his name??? lol.

Ah, June 18th.

If the US were to observe an election like this in any other country on this planet there would be story after story of the insanity and corruption it yields.

It's fucking insane that the vote can be influenced simply by the stamina and physical ability of the voters at any level.

It's time to end this caucus bullshit. One vote per person, counted, verified, and recorded.

life.

It needs to change.

And this whole thing where 17 year olds can vote in some elections, but not all.
Ohio if I recall.

Good on Sanders (and his campaign team) to sue and win the right for 17 year olds who will be 18 in November to have the right to vote in the Primary.

This might make a difference.

Seriously, this country is NOT even in the ballpark when it comes to being a beacon for democracy.

Starting to look that way. Sorry, but it really is. Does not bode well for the way the country would be run.
Right into the ground, IMO. Like a company taken over by Bain Capital.

Be different if we had not had actual boots on the ground for this particular count. Who knows how valid other counts are?

I did watch some of the staff in Nevada playing tricks but then I realized that the link was a right wing group so I won't post it here. BUT they did get some of the staff admitting to the tactics that they use to disenfranchise some, get others involved who maybe shouldn't be, canvass where they are told that they can't, etc. So yeah, I'd say that the campaign is full of... funny business.
