Supporters leave county Democratic convention in frustration

Polk County Democratic leaders said the process began smoothly until Clinton supporters challenged the first count, asking for a credential check for all the delegates after falling behind by more than a dozen votes compared to caucus night.

Polk County Democratic Chair Tom Henderson granted the credential check, but the process isn’t a simple one – and takes time.

The delays led to Sanders supporters becoming frustrated, with some at the convention leaving before the final count was tallied.

Henderson said conventions in a presidential election year usually take a lot of time.

He recalled 20 years ago how the convention lasted until 2 o’clock in the morning.

“Typically we don’t have a challenge, but then typically we don’t have these razor thin margins,” he said. “I think a lot of people were first-timers for the convention assume it’s going to be done by noon. They’re rarely ever done by noon, so every convention we have people who say this is taking too long. They go home.”

Forty-five delegates left as the convention continued.

Can't beat them? Fuck with them until you win. If this is what the HRC camp thinks of America then she's in for a rude awakening.

And we heard nothing from the counties where Hillary gained. No, they didn't like that things didn't go as well for Hillary. Screw that shit.

during the original primary. And now the county convention has upheld the state win, despite some trying to throw Polk to Bernie.

It sounded to me like they were legit every time and Hillary delegates were winning because of an exercise in filibustering.

Delegates are unbound, and you shouldn't make the count take 11 hours just because you don't like the result.

the first vote didn't reflect the primary day election results, the realignments as they tried to woo the OMalley delegates, etc. The rest of the state managed to make it work just fine, but when you get people trying to shift away from the vote of the people, some are going to object.

This is from CoffeeCat's post from there today.

I'm here at our Dem Polk County Convention. Hillary initially won Polk County the night of the caucus.

The preliminary numbers are as follows. Hillary 530; Bernie 600. Polk county has unofficially flipped to Bernie.

Hill camp does not like the numbers. They are completely freaking out. The Hill camp changed the rules and ordered all Bernie supporters leave the room, and again and be counted one by one. It's taking a long time. All 600 of us had to leave, wait in a hot atrium and file in individually and be checked off.

And then it was still not settled 10 hours later.

10 hours or more?

We have members that are overzealous I just don't imagine that most Bernie people would come in and pose as delegates to flip things. More has to be going on.

We should be on guard they don't try this bs with any of the Super Tuesday states Bernie won as well as Michigan. I can't believe I have to even say this shit. Sigh. I am so disgusted by these possible high-jinks.
