Idahoans march for Bernie Sanders in Downtown Boise

BOISE - About a thousand people turned out at the Statehouse Saturday morning to march in support of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

The rally comes just 10 days before the Idaho Democratic Caucus on March 22.

"From the Idaho Democratic Party standpoint it has to be thrilling to see so many Idahoans preparing to engage in the caucus process, many for the first time," Idaho Dems volunteer Chelsea Lincoln said. "Many expressed their gratitude for the energy and reminded each other how important it was to show up for their county caucus on March 22."

One rallier describes the atmosphere as energetic and enthusiastic.

"It was really cool to see so many little kids out there. At one point a little boy noticed nobody was chanting and the Bern had died down so he started chanting "feel the burn feel the burn" and then got everyone else around him to start chanting again," rallier Brittany Reichel said.

It took marchers about an hour to march from the Capitol to Ann Morrison Park. The event lasted until about 2 p.m.

Growing up in a farming town midwestern state, I love chatting with my sisters and brothers in other rural states.

After a few calls, my speech infection changes from urban nowhere to rural somewhere. I can't help it.
