MoveOn statement on Trump Rally being canceled

Ilya Sheyman, executive director of MoveOn.org Political Action, responded to news of the postponement of Donald Trump’s rally in Chicago on Friday:

“Mr. Trump and the Republican leaders who support him and his hate-filled rhetoric should be on notice after tonight’s events. These protests are a direct result of the violence that has occurred at Trump rallies and that has been encouraged by Trump himself from the stage. Our country is better than the shameful, dangerous, and bigoted rhetoric that has been the hallmark of the Trump campaign. To all of those who took to the streets of Chicago, we say thank you for standing up and saying enough is enough. To Donald Trump, and the GOP, we say, welcome to the general election. Trump and those who peddle hate and incite violence have no place in our politics and most certainly do not belong in the White House.”

His rallies are not exactly known as places of non-violence.

I see it more like self defense.

Florida is up this cycle too? Why isn't he bringing his racist, sexist, xenophobic rhetoric here?

BECAUSE............................................

He literally would not survive speaking in Miami. Outside of South Beach and Coral Gables, the streets of Miami are a serious business .... and everybody is packing.

Not proud of this ... just speaking the truth.

Trump is a first class tool with a hate-filled message and his supporters are just as bad. But ask yourself, would Bernie support the attempt to deny free speech? There are better ways to protest and spread a positive message.

Peaceful protesters at trump events are routinely met with violent attacks and Trump encourages it.

They have a violent physical agenda that has to be confronted and disrupted. I couldn't be more proud of t. These protesters are heroes.

This gives him ammo.
Everyone take their Dramamine,
got some serious spin coming down.
I have thought, ignore him and he will
go away. But it would seem rot thrives
in darkness. Can't wait until my,
"I don't hate him cuz he's black" friends
get the story of how those crazed Libtards
denied Drumpf his chance to spread
peace, prosperity and tolerance to all the
folks of this Great Nation.(tm)

on the right wing sites. Breitbart is calling for Bernie to tell his supporters to not be violent, Trump is saying that he cancelled the rally because he doesn't want anyone to be hurt (at least not his white supporters) and is claiming his First Amendment rights were violated. Someone apparently was waving a Mexican flag, so that, of course, is getting press. All predictable.
