Watched Some of the GOP Debate - More Civil and More Crazy

On the one hand, there were no comparisons of the size of each other's anatomy. That being said, it is pretty scary that Cruz and Trump are the runaway front runners. While there was less yelling, we also got to hear more about their positions, and it just comes out crazy or incoherent for most of them with the exception of Kasich.

Ted Cruz - He standard answer is to abolish a federal agency. Education? Abolish the DOE. Taxes? Abolish the IRS. Social Security? Abolish it, and turn it into mass 401(k)'s. Put another way, his solution to every problem is to make it someone else's problem.

Donald Trump - What he says is just incoherent. It is odd how he sort of plays economic populist by promising to both not cut benefits, but also cut taxes. Then again, this was classic Reaganomics, which lead to huge growth in the deficit.

Marco Rubio - This seemed like one of his better debates in that he dropped trying to out-Trump Trump. His social security plan sounded like a re-hash of Dubya's social security plan, which made him sound like a Dubya re-tread. This might be why the establishment loves him. Still, even though he tried to act with a little more maturity, I can't forget that he won in the first place by catering to the crazies who are now supporting Cruz and Trump.

John Kasich - Okay, he is the only who sounds relatively sane. He reminds of the first George Bush, not Dubya, who actually did raise taxes. He also is not against common core, which was heresy to those in the audience. I would still vote for either Hillary or Bernie over Kasich, but I would not necessarily be fearful that he would win like the other three, particularly Cruz and Trump. It is too bad that he has no chance of actually winning the GOP nomination. Being sane is a huge liability in today's GOP.

In short, it is one thing to disagree with a Republican candidate. Unfortunately, this time around, the top two are just bat shit crazy and are pretty outspoken about it.

1. Kasich *talks* more sane, but he governs like a right wing extremist.

That makes him the most dangerous of the bunch, because he could fool some people into voting for him.

I doubt if an undecided or independent would vote for him though. They seem to have stepped out of the meat aisle into the garden section where the orchids are.

If everyone knew who Victoria Nuland is and what's she's doing in Ukraine, I think we'd have a different outlook.

At this point he is not going to win the Republican primary.

11. Trump is by far the most sane one.

He's a conman and petty criminal serving up any bullshit that works to sweep up the loyalties of fascists and racists. It even works with the Christofanatics, who for some reason are incapable of seeing the most obvious non-Christian faker ever. (No doubt he's a racist himself, but that's secondary to what he does - he's a performer and he wants to win and he would say anything to win.)

Kasich says he'll break the Iran accord and he means it, as do Rubio and Cruz. Rubio is talking nothing but war, war, war and would be the neocon choice if only he had a chance. These guys are all worse than or no worse than Trump.

10. Apparently some think Cruz is an alien reptile

I was listening to ground zero on am radio tonight while I was driving and there were several callers who confirmed the goofball who shot the preacher who prayed for Cruz did it because the preacher is an alien reptile/human hybrid and so is Cruz.
Makes as much sense as anything else.
