(44,173 posts)He knows political demographics and geography very well.
That is what he did in 2008. But after the election NBC made him a reporter and in that capacity he is terrible; he often just repeats Georgetown Cocktail Party tripe.

(5,614 posts)I can only guess Chuck is the choice of senior NBC management

(3,960 posts)He needs to be reigned in or fired. He is so pompous. Im having a hard time even watching Msnbc anymore.

(33,497 posts)When he's on Morning Joe or some other more MSM leaning MSNBC type program he sounds like a right winger. When he's on Rachel or Ed he sounds fairly reasonable and professional.

(13,776 posts)I only see him on the evening programs.
I didn't know he changed his spots semi-diurnally. Hmmm... that's kind of weird.

(6,262 posts)And now thinks if he can be just like David Gregory, he will go further up the sycophant ladder in the NBC shop.
I used to like him way back when. Now he is a predictable tilted to the right commentator while, trying to seem even handed.

I swore he was progressive, he just seemed to glimmer a bit when the news was good for Ds.
The MOMENT he landed at msnbc/nbc, he turned corporatist - the usual bad news for dems/good news for rs bs.
he is pretty much the clearest example of a corporate media sell out.
luke russert, the first time he saw air was during the last presidential.
he was the special college coverage guy, and everyone was all breathless over him because his father had just passed.
his first piece was on campus, and it was pretty positive to barrack obama, because, well, it was a college campus, and the numbers reflected an OVERWHELMING level of support for him among college students.
his second piece was the next day, and it was sadly obvious he had been talked to, because the tone was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. he spent the whole piece struggling to try to say that mccain had good support with college students, and it was very much in question who would have the edge with college students.
to this day, he is raging with his snark against ds and his propping up rs.
liberal media, doncha know.

Walk away
(9,494 posts)I know MSNBC has to have a few "bad guys" (or at least they think they have to) but he is even more annoying than the usual suspects. He has no personality.

(27,630 posts)He's not cute, in my opinion.
He is purposely elusive about his own political leaning, and works hard to keep people guessing. RWers think he is a liberal, and liberals are pretty damn certain he is a republican.

(904 posts)Otherwise he tries too hard to make the equivalency (and devils advocate) argument. Always pushing the GOPer BS, repeating the talking points, acting as another member of the right wing echo chamber, NEVER CALLING THEM ON THEIR LIES.
I think that is what bothers me most about the media. They make fun of "FACT CHECKERS" as if it is beneath them to bother checking facts and making sure people are truthful.
....
I hate brazen liars and Mitt Rmoney is one of them.
