(12,081 posts)be in charge of primaries or caucuses. WA has a mail in ballot primary. This is great for everybody including the disabled. My husband is legally blind and loves the mail in ballot system. Only this time WA Democrats have decided that they will be getting all of their delegates from the caucus. This is not the only problem with the parties running the primaries and caucuses. We have heard many stories about problems at polling stations. Just like with Bush there are two possible conclusions. Either the party is incompetent or they are corrupt and neither is acceptable.

(18,402 posts)Caucuses are a bit different by nature, but the tallies (where everyone is present to confirm) are again sent to the Secretary of State.
But really, what are primaries besides each party having a contest to decide which candidate should be that party's nominee for various offices? They ARE party affairs.
Otherwise, we'd just have a giant national "pre-election" and let everybody vote among all the parties' candidates. And then we'd end up with all the red states voting for Republicans and all the blue states .... And Democrats in red states or Republicans in blue states would have absolutely no say in their party's nominations. Primaries ARE party affairs.

(1,377 posts)I have been bitching about the Debate Schedule and Get out the Vote not being done by DNC, and the M$M not being fair to Bernie.
So it is not win or lose. If Sanders was slightly ahead like Hillary is now, I would be saying that it is amazing he has done this even though those things happened. So not a Excuse it is reasons.

(29,251 posts)that can be pulled out by rethugs in the GE. Until she releases those transcripts - and we know whether she is going to be indicted for her various other "shenanigans" - it is not an even playing field for Dems in determining how to vote.
The only reasonable inference about those transcripts is that they would hurt her chances in a big way. And *that matters a helluva lot*...
