1. Yeah, Clinton pressured the banks to compel the Observer to back her. That's how the press works.

I'm not sure if this thread is mocking the numerous conspiracy theories against HRC or if the OP is completely serious here.

2. No conspiracy. Just knowing who butters their bread.

Media does not exist in a vacuum. They are subject to financial pressures from local industries.

And if you think that's unlikely, you need to take some history classes.

3. I think it is insane to believe a newspaper has outside companies dictate their endorsements.

I can't wait for primary season to be over as these absurd conspiracy theories will be much, much rarer.

Nobody denies that corporations influence the media. Nobody denies that corporations support certain candidates.

Step 3: ???

It ain't rocket science. It also ain't a conspiracy. Just doin' bidness how bidness has always been done.

5. What you are suggesting is simply preposterous. Drop ther tin foil, everyone is corrupt nonsense.

I know a lot of Bernie supporters think everything, everywhere is corrupt and they spin crap like this to suit whatever nonsense they are peddling. This sort of thinking is simply insane. The banks in Charlotte did not influence the endorsement of the Observer's editorial board. IT DID NOT HAPPEN. The board is not going to decide who to endorse because of advertising or influence from an outside company or companies. Please return to reality.

Clinton has been racking up all sorts of newspaper endorsements. I suppose you're going to tell me she used her influence to gain every single one of them. That is simply preposterous.

Nowhere did I suggest that Clinton used her influence.

But I did blatantly say that in a city that has a lot of banks that generate ad revenue and huge proportion of the cities population that consists bankers and bank employees who read news papers, there is undue influence.

Because if all the people who support your paper by buying ads and subscribing to your paper, see that one candidate favors them, you'd best believe you, as a newspaper, are going to consider what is good for your bottom line.

I'd like to take a second to thank you for keeping this tiny little slip of a comment thread kicked for as long as you have. It took me until this morning to get the joke.

Nobody likes to have fun anymore.
