(14,733 posts)And if by some miracle Bernie does make it through, pushing for federal election laws is probably as important as pushing money out of politics. Generate paper trails off of ALL voting machines that voters can see and verify as they're written, have them independently reviewed by at least two sets of people and the numbers compared afterwards before anything is certified, and give voters 'receipts', so that they can pull up their own votes from a national database at any point in time.

Hillary's supporters are not attending massive rallies, or vote on online polls after a debate, but they show up where it matters: at the voting booth.

(1,342 posts)It is so unfortunate that for the people to win, we have to overcome great cheating!

BS has been good at caucuses, because in many anyone can go in an vote, but their turnout is dismal too. People like the show because their curious, but beyond that, not so much. The people that are voting are 39-65+ .
Just a little side note I couldn't wait to be able to vote, more so than when they lower the drinking age to 18. The disaster of 1972 made me even more determined to vote.....how could the liberal lose McGovern got 17 electoral votes to Nixon's 520. By the skin of my teeth Nixon stopped the draft in time right after the inauguration on Jan 27, 1973. Bernie Sanders thought this election wasn't important. The Democrats went around the guy with the primary popular vote Humphrey.......he was in my opinion a much better candidate. Never again would I be drawn to the person who wouldn't win. FYI Obama captured me at the DNC Convention in 04. Bernie Sanders will never capture main stream Democrats.....never, like McGovern.

(7,393 posts)You don't go to a Bernie rally. Which is exactly the case with the 4 Clinton supporters in my immediate family.
But of course this implied smear against the Democratic Party is completely baseless, which is so typical for his supporters. Disgusting. IMO. I can't wait until this crap is banned here. Soon, I hope.

(25,586 posts)Relying on The Revolutionary Youth Brigade was always going to be a risky strategy. If he had pulled it off it would have been pretty much the Biggest Thing Ever. As it is he's done better than I personally anticipated but nowhere near well enough.
