2016 Postmortem

In 2012, filmmaker Lina Esco started the Free the Nipple movement to wage war on sexist double standards. The movement has spawned topless demonstrations and led to Facebook lifting its ban on breastfeeding in its photos. Why can you show public beheadings from Saudi Arabia on Facebook, but not a nipple? Esco wrote on the Huffington Post. Why can you sell guns on Instagram, but yet they will suspend your account for posting the most natural part of a womans body? If Escos movement is seeking more support, it should consider enlisting the help of a presidential candidate who recently came out as pro-nipple, Bernie Sanders.
On Monday, Elle Bradford of Barberton, Ohio, attended a Sanders rally in Cleveland with her 6-month-old daughter, Harper. While they were seated in the second row, Harper began indicating that she was hungry, so Bradford breast-fed her daughter in their seat. There is no, Im feeding you in 10 minutes. Its Im feeding you right here, right now, or youre screaming, Bradford told WEWS-TV. After the rally, a photo of Bradford and Harper began circulating on social media.

Later, Bradford said she was personally thanked for breastfeeding her baby at the rally by Sanders and his wife, Jane OMeara Sanders. After the rally, Bernie and Jane OMeara Sanders both thanked me for doing what mothers do and taking care of my daughter when she needed her mom, Bradford wrote on Facebook, even if that meant nursing in public! Today, the Sanders campaign came out in support of Bradfords actions.

Feel the Bern!
You'd think that people had no idea what women's breasts are for. It's ridiculous the prudery and anti-woman sentiment that is really behind the "no breastfeeding in public" idea in our society.
Banning breastfeeding in public is another way to "keep women in their place." I'm against that.

The American People have been conditioned by relentless 24/7 decades old corporate media conglomerate marketing which lives by the adage that sex sells and as all they care about is the almighty dollar, misogynist fall out is perfectly acceptable to them.
While they may condemn it on a superficial level or for political expediency they in fact feed the beast.

Hubs and I lived there during the years I nursed my 1.5 yr old son. I was told more than once to go into a restroom or private area when nursing the toddler even though I was fully covered with a blanket. They just couldn't stand the thought of a breastfeeding mom, I suppose.
Yay for the Sanders supporting this natural way of nourshing! Let me add that breastfeeding helps brain cells grow --- my kid just finish his PhD in theoretical physics!
Merica where lawmakers in a state got rid of a law which made it illegal to allow anyone under 14 years of age to shoot a pistol, but still illegal for them to see a breast. We need more 5 year olds shooting at gun ranges I guess.
