(1,134 posts)The GOP Florida clusterf*ck yesterday created the illusion of him being viable because he ahs to get FL just to stay in the game. The GOP went full bore this week to make their guy seem viable and the media is all in because of ratings and Mitt-love. No Senate seats have been jeapardized.
America wants Obama to close.

(26,737 posts)This is a seven-day rolling average. Today's poll represents last night's polling (the first full day after the VP debate) replacing the data from last Friday (thought to be Romney's single best day).
If the needle didn't move appreciably (and some movement can be hidden in rounding)... then we have a problem. Yesterday today were supposed to be the days that proved that romney's bounce was really just a fading blip.
It isn't "call your friends in Europe and ask if you can move in with them in January" bad... it's just worrisome.

(65,173 posts)Obama will make gains the next couple days, and for sure will take the lead with a better debate.

(28 posts)Lets quit telling ourselves everything will be ok and start taking these gains seriously. I'd say that Gallup was one of the worst pollers in the 08 final results but that would probably incite further attacks of me being a troll.

(175 posts)First, I think Romney is losing his bounce, many of the polls that had Romney ahead after the debate are down to 1 or tied.
Also, keep in mind, Gallup and Rasmussen have been like twins during most of this year, showing Obama with lower numbers even while Reuters, Pew and other posters had much higher numbers, and I personally think Rasmussen is pure trash.
They tend to play with their numbers until close to election day except in states like Indiana, Florida, and Ohio, they lied right up to the very end in 2008.

(4,119 posts)Has more to do with his lying and unexplained plans than it does with any debate.
oswaldactedalone
(3,491 posts)that the debates don't matter. If Obama chokes like he did the first time, it's over. He tried to be positive while pointing out no Robme negatives and got defined as weak. Now, he has to come on strong, call Robme out for his flip-flops, and explain why Robme's policies are a disaster.
If he fails to do this, then he has let progressives and America down.

(924 posts)I personally chatted with a few who rarely vote, or are first-time voters. They do plan to vote, but unlikely to be accounted as LV. It doesn't take much, just a few percent error to swing the result.
But who cares? GOTV is the ultimate deciding factor. Why worry about something dubious and we have no control?
