High Point University: North Carolina: Obama 46%, Romney 45%

Did this poll get mentioned yesterday? I can't remember seeing it posted here or at RCP.

It does show a shift to Romney from their last poll, but it's much better than the other NC polls out there this week.

A closer look at the data, however, suggests a shift related to the first presidential debate between Obama and Romney that occurred on Oct. 3. Prior to the debate, 49 percent said they would vote for Obama and 40 percent chose Romney. After the debate, 49 percent of those surveyed chose Romney compared to 43 percent for Obama.

Obama had a 9-point lead in NC? In fact, the poll looks like single-day snap polling.

The mid Sept poll showed Obama 48, Romney 44

Previous to that:

Romney 46, Obama 43 (early September)

Obama 43, Romney 43 (late August)

The HPU poll is consistent with recent Rasmussen poll and others. Gravis is the outlier in NC.

Don't know what you mean by saying bye to us all. Do you know something we don't?

some before the debate, some after? This poll is worthless. Probably why it didn't get mentioned.

Shows Obama well ahead in pre-debate polling and well behind in post debate polling.

ahead after the debate Romney had a solid lead. So it's hard to say if it is good news or not. But we will take it.
