As final votes come in, I noticed MA just adjusted to 50-49. This is probably why they weren't sure who to call it for. There are still some pcts out. Nail biter for sure.

(3,660 posts)If you hover over the map you'll see it's 48.5% to 50.3% so the rounding is shaving almost an extra percentage point off making it look like 1% instead of nearly 2% but still incredibly close.

(28,876 posts)And I hate to say it, but, with over 1 million ballots casts, how many provisionals might be out there?
I'll be checking in on this one until it's certified. Fascinating.

(9,497 posts)This isn't Haiti.
Or are we allowed to mention Haiti and the Clintons in the same post here?
Kittycat
(10,493 posts)Several videos of him in and around the polls. Some greeting, some full on campaigning. It was terrible, but the worst was blocking voter access.

Bill probably did y'all a favor, as dumb as his actions were.

(10,493 posts)Or do they not matter?
alcibiades_mystery
(36,437 posts)of course not. Can we not have a polite conversation about facts?
Bill Clinton is a dipshit. I don't know the full story but he apparently caused some delay in voting in New Bedford. But he didn't delay 20,000 Sanders voters at a single polling place, in an area that had 11,500 votes total, and in an area that Hillary won by 10 points. Right? That's not a plausible charge, right? Twenty thousand voters would have come through the ONE polling place in that 2 hours, and they all would have gone to Bernie, bucking the 55-44 Hillary trend of the area? Right?

(36,437 posts)which is what I was answering.
Let's stipulate that delaying voters in any manner is terrible. He still didn't delay 20,000 Bernie voters in New Bedford, as that's impossible. And that seemed to be your initial question.
Kittycat
(10,493 posts)I said it was terrible campaigning and worse, blocking voter access. Also, he stopped at several locations, so traffic and access was reportedly tied up not just at the polling locations, but around town.
I do agree with your assessment on him. Someone on the campaign should try to find a way to reel him in. Regardless, his actions impacted the process not just for one side, but for all sides. It's not about 20k votes, it's about an individual's right to vote.
alcibiades_mystery
(36,437 posts)In a post about a close election, when somebody asks about impact, I assume they're referring to impact on the election results, not traffic conditions and individual votes.
I apologize for my assumption, which made an ass out of me.
Have a nice evening.

(36,437 posts)There are literally not 21,000 votes out there total, much less possibilities to make up a 21,000 vote margin.
Even if Bernie won every single remaining vote, he'd still be about 15,000 short or more.

(28,876 posts)Over 1 million votes cast. There are going to be a significant number of provisionals. I have no idea how they would break, but I don't think this one is over even after 100% report.

(8,541 posts)Are they counted after the polls close but before certified?
