2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSo let's play this out...
Ten AM tomorrow, in Boston Bernie Sanders gets on to a stage with... Elizabeth Warren and she endorses him for President. It would be less than 24 hours before primary voting starts in Massachusetts but the story would make HEADLINES all day, and would be extensively carried by all Massachusetts TV/Radio/Print media.
Is it enough to sway an electorate with a spread somewhere between 0-8 points? Is there enough time that it would make a difference?
What do you think?

(28,749 posts)And it really depends on where the race really is. Is Hillary within 4, 6, or 8.

(44,228 posts)I think if she was going to do it, she would have done it already. In fact, I don't think she'll endorse either of them.
I think by not endorsing either candidate, she maintains an influential position with whomever is the eventual nominee - and probably the President.
Endorsing Hillary at this point would be seen as opportunistic. Endorsing Sanders, after he's lost 3 of the first 4 states, and polling is looking very bad for Tuesday, would burn too much political capital that could be better used down the road.

(2,197 posts)I think that would sway enough votes to push Sanders over the top in Massachusetts.

(80,708 posts)Although I do suspect the single-digit IQ ad hominem attacks will slow down as more Hillary supporters pivot towrds the GE.
... Down the memory hole!

(9,968 posts)...it would have to come tomorrow. And, most importantly, Bernie would have to win. If the polls I saw here are true, he's down 8 points. So, if Warren endorses and he wins, they both win. However, if she endorses and he loses, they both lose... If she endorses and he wins MA, but loses overall, it's still a bit of a win for Warren. Personally, I don't think she's going to do it...
