2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCongratulations to Hillary Clinton, her supporters, her DU supporters, S.C., and the AA Community
Have a good night and enjoy the win.
I do think Clinton will win the nomination but I expect Sanders will be in it right down to the wire. We need him and we need his message. We also need to bring the Democratic Party back home to a true progressive message no matter who is running.
I think Sanders has helped Clinton with that. I hope it is for real.
Again, congrats and have a good night.
P.S. Don't enjoy it too long because it will be back to "game on" tomorrow

(1,890 posts)I already posted a congrats in another thread but I will do it here too. Enjoy your win.
Bread and Circus: I'm not willing to concede that Hillary will probably get the nomination but I have congratulated the Hillary supporters on her win.

(26,001 posts)The problem is the world will be entering such a potentially calamitous time heading into mid-century, that cautious centrism won't cut it, as far as "leadership." (And rightwing reaction is, of course, a death knell....)
I hope Sanders candidacy becomes part of an ongoing conversation and counterweight to center/corporate Democratic "ideals," during the rest of the campaign, and after the party's nominee beats the GOPper in the fall (which better happen, or this entire discussion is more or less "moot...."

(5,066 posts)center/corporate democratic establishment wants nothing to do with sanders, his ideas.they want his supporters to all be stupid
and just vote for her even though they have been called racists, sexists, and tea party.

(26,001 posts)...well, she's going to have to transcend herself, and her main supporters' expectations, pretty fast, to keep with the times, which will be a-changin'....

(13,776 posts)We're going to have to come back together after the primaries (most of us will, anyway ) and there's nothing to be gained from not being polite and gracious to each other before then. It was a big win; she and her team and her volunteers did a good job. Congratulations!
