2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumEvery state counts, no matter who they choose or chose to vote for
Just thought I would put that out there. I was disappointed when Clinton lost New Hampshire by such a wide margin, but I didn't believe for one minute that their vote did not count for anything or think that they should be ignored.
Again, I just thought I would put this out there as there have been some posts that have been seemingly dismissive of South Carolina because it is a red state in general elections or because it is somehow less educated than other states.

(12,689 posts)The nominee is not chosen until after the last primary and at the convention. Granted, in many cycles some candidates will drop out and there will be a presumptive nominee, but nonetheless all states do vote.
My point was about posts that have been made that dismiss South Carolina as being irrelevant to the overall process.

(8,352 posts)like New Hampshire, right?
Or has a lot of naive students who just want free stuff like Iowa, am I right?
And actually yes in general South Carolina is a very uneducated state. They were ranked dead last just last year. They dropped below Mississippi.

(12,689 posts)Each candidate has groups of people they appeal to. My point was about how every state counts in the process regardless of how they vote.

So forgive me if being lectured to today by more Clinton supporters about how important SC voters now are rings just a bit disingenuous.
