I'm happy to start this topic open for discussion again since we, the people now know many of those to whom she was paid by for her "speaking" to them.
Not us.

(5,790 posts)I assure you that Barack Obama will make millions in speaking fees starting a year from now and how ever many days it takes to drag him off the golf course.
Celebrity politicians get paid to speak at corporate events. Usually, they talk about challenges, reaching goals, and how great America is. Everyone needs to get over this.

(6,007 posts)where Hillary has one view, then gets a lot of money and then votes the opposite way..
There have been a few very credible examples of this.
But other than the OBVIOUS ones, I remember Bernie saying in one debate that Wall Street must be very scared by Hillary telling them to "knock it off" and then giving her $15,000,000 for her campaign. .. . they must be really scared.

(4,213 posts)BILL MOYERS: And Mrs. Clinton was one of them, as senator?
WARREN: She has taken money from these groups, and more to the point, she worries about them as a constituency.
MOYERS: So, can we ever have a government that works for everyday people... when our elected officials switch sides like that and pay more attention to the donors than to the voters?
WARREN: The government runs for those who can make their voices heard. And they mostly make their voices heard through their lobbyists, through their campaign contributions. And that means over and over and over the tilt is in favor of the rich and the powerful.
MOYERS: To be frank, Mrs. Clinton... is the embodiment of that establishment.

(5,790 posts)Any President or Governor has appointed many Secretaries, Under Secretaries, and other bureaucratic functionaries. In the case of Obama officialdom of these folks will likely remain in DC even if there is an administration change. Others will go on to become congressional staffers, city manager types, and elected officials who can always be reminded who gave them their big break.

BILL CURRY
snip....
Asked about her Goldman Sachs speaking fees, Hillary offered two rationales. One was the perennial favorite everyone does it. The other was equally flippant. (Thats what they offered.) Since leaving the White House she and Bill have hauled in $153 million in speaking fees. Her deepest flaw is she doesnt know its wrong. As Ive written twice here and said often elsewhere, Ive great respect for her. Her flaw is denial, not dishonesty but her denial runs deep.
This was written by Bill Curry, former White House Counsel in the Clinton Administration
