2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie Sanders has vowed to support Hillary if she wins the nomination. I AGREE WITH BERNIE!
Bernie will support Hillary if she is the nominee. He has said so time and again. In fact, I'm sure he will actively campaign for her. Case closed for anyone supporting Bernie as to what they SHOULD do if he is not the nominee.

(86 posts)if you voted for Obama.
All done voting defensively. If your candidate doesn't win the nom, write them in. For as we have found out, the nomination process is not all on the up-and-up.

As we just set it up, name may take 12-48 hours to replicate before you can reach it by democratsforward.org.
You can email me for a link to post there now, and that will still work even after democratsforward.org replicates through internet search engines.

(40,168 posts)How about on your side, if Bernie wins? Hmmm?
I see more than a few that think Bernie hasn't done enough for "them".
Will they support Bernie? My guess is they won't.

(2,166 posts)Bernie and Hillary are as opposite as can be.
An Independent Bernie voter will never vote Hillary.
This is why she has no chance of winning.

(4,711 posts)You'd agree with anyone who said anything pro-Hillary. In any case, I agree with Bernie's stances on the issues, but he's not my boss or religious leader. My vote is mine and I'll do what I want with it.

(1,523 posts)However, after the all the rhetoric against Bernie supporters by Hillary supporters: ponies and unicorns, calling us Bernie "fans", and even a post implying Sanders supporters were like the Red Guard during the Cultural Revolution in China, all she will have is my vote. I will not donate to her campaign.

She's a multi-millionaire; I'm not. She can fund her own damn campaign.

(24,411 posts)and I'm afraid, "But you must support Hillary in the GE" is one of those intimidation talking points.
People should stop trying to spew marketing messages to others about their sacred vote.
Talking points and slogans may sell Corn Flakes and shower gel, but they're sure as hell not an effective method of earning something as sacred as a vote.

That's a really dumb reason for not saying something that you ask of others to do for you.
Until Hillary says she would support Bernie - I have zero interest in supporting Hillary.

(4,451 posts)IF Hillary is the nominee I hope she gives Bernie a high position that would help him gain experience and exposure for a future presidential run.

(14,195 posts)LOL! If Clinton gets the nomination, Bernie needs to remain in the Senate where he can try to steer legislation on the policies he has been promoting, which Hillary currently claims to support.
Of course, if Bernie is not the Nominee, I seriously doubt we keep the White House.

(15,435 posts)support her. We need him in the Senate and the new people who have decided to come forward and run against our current "entrenched" Congress Critters who sold us down the river will NEED his leadership!
This one person has taken on almost and ENTIRE Government to speak for "we the people!" For all the people here who are willing to SETTLE for Hillary are going to find out soon enough who she really is. I suppose I should be more forgiving of those here who don't know the REAL Hillary, but given all that we discuss here and ALL the information that's been presented it still is very upsetting to me.
What is happening here in this country now has been a long time in he making. Bernie has started what's been needed for way too many years. Unfortunately this country has been willing to accept the corruption they see AT THEIR OWN PERIL!
Now, we've come to the point where real change can happen and so many will only take "baby steps" to reach the end zone. BUT, I have NO doubt... NONE AT ALL that it won't be long in coming that many will be forced to see the error they've made.
I want to express how much respect I have for this one man who I'm sure HISTORY will never forget!! What will be coming is what I wanted to avoid... but apparently many need more time. Getting hit in the back of one's head doesn't feel very good, but hard headedness needs the swift punch!
PROCEED!

(4,558 posts)Do you really think this approach is like to increase the number of people who are supporting Bernie Sanders? Who believe in Bernie's message?
I can say for 100% certain that if the election season was rolling out differently, imperative statements like this would NOT be wooing me over to wanting to support Bernie. It would have the opposite effect. I can say this for 100% certain because of how much these kinds of statements pissed me off in 2008.
Promoting Hillary's policies, and campaign.. GREAT!
Defending the attacks on her.. GREAT!
Telling Bernie's supporters "Case closed" and what they should do as an imperative... not productive at all imo.
