When Hillary Anoints Herself the Democratic Nominee Tonight or After Super Tuesday .....

I don't want hear her supporters start demanding that Bernie Sanders drop out immediately.

Remember 2008? According to her own rules, it was OK for HER to stay in the race no matter what! Hillary when so far as to evoked one of the saddest, most awful, moments in United States political history (the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy) as a reason to do so. I wonder how Ethel Kennedy and Bobby's 10 kids felt when Hillary displayed such a zeal and desperateness for her to be president:

"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California." Hillary Clinton May 2008

But I can also guarantee that after next week, if any print or television analyst suggests that the math is becoming almost insurmountable, you will quite probably say that "Hillary" has anointed herself and that her "supporters" have demanded that Bernie quit. God knows, Senator, in this campaign, this nation has **had** to forgive you, early and often…

And despite your now traditional position of the offended victim, the nation **has** forgiven you.

We have forgiven you your insistence that there have been widespread calls for you to end your campaign, when such calls had been few.

We have forgiven you your misspeaking about Martin Luther King’s relative importance to the Civil Rights movement.

We have forgiven you your misspeaking about your under-fire landing in Bosnia.

We have forgiven you insisting Michigan’s vote wouldn’t count and then claiming those who would not count it were Un-Democratic.

We have forgiven you pledging to not campaign in Florida and thus disenfranchise voters there, and then claim those who stuck to those rules were as wrong as those who defended slavery or denied women the vote.

We have forgiven you the photos of Osama Bin Laden in an anti-Obama ad…

We have forgiven you fawning over the fairness of Fox News while they were still calling you a murderer.

We have forgiven you accepting Richard Mellon Scaife’s endorsement and then laughing as you described his “deathbed conversion.”

We have forgiven you quoting the electoral predictions of Boss Karl Rove.

We have forgiven you the 3 A-M Phone Call commercial.

We have forgiven you **President** Clinton’s disparaging comparison of the Obama candidacy to Jesse Jackson’s.

We have forgiven you Geraldine Ferraro’s national radio interview suggesting Obama would not still be in the race had he been a white man.

We have forgiven you the dozen changing metrics and the endless self-contradictions of your insistence that your nomination is mathematically probable rather than a statistical impossibility.

We have forgiven you your declaration of some primary states as counting and some as not.

We have forgiven you exploiting Jeremiah Wright in front of the editorial board of the lunatic-fringe Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

We have forgiven you exploiting William Ayers in front of the debate on ABC.

We have forgiven you for boasting of your “support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans”…

We have even forgiven you repeatedly praising Senator McCain at Senator Obama’s expense, and your **own** expense, and the Democratic **ticket’s** expense.

'When people show you who they are, believe them' - Maya Angelou -(a quote my Grandma used to say to me whenever someone had hurt me and she'd listened to the whole story.)

This amount of 'forgiveness' sums up someone's thinking and real views, imo. That she's had to evolve now because of Sanders unexpected rise, which she'd never have done otherwise doesn't change who she really is. The fact that she's close friends with and has accepted millions from those who've gotten rich off the backs of the poor and middle class just confirms it, for me.

They can't defend this. They can't discuss the issues. All they seem to be able to do is demonize Sanders because of his terrible, horrible supporters. And that's pretty *'ing sad.

Sat Feb 27, 2016, 02:15 PM

Q: Did Clinton win the popular vote?
A: Obama won more votes unless you count Michigan, where he wasn’t on the ballot.
FULL QUESTION
Did Hillary Clinton actually end up with more popular votes than Barack Obama? Given that there is some discussion on whether to count the popular votes of Michigan and Florida, as well as how to count caucus votes, who did end up with the higher count?
FULL ANSWER
After the primary season wrapped up on Tuesday, Clinton commended her supporters and claimed once again that she had won the popular vote: "Nearly 18 million of you cast your votes for our campaign, carrying the popular vote with more votes than any primary candidate in history."
Did she? Now that all the primaries and caucuses are over we can take one, final look.
Obama won more total votes than Clinton in the contests where they both appeared on the ballot. Clinton won the popular vote only if you count votes from Michigan, where Obama’s name did not appear on the ballot.

42. After Bobby Kennedy's tragic Death we got Richard Nixon.

Following Edward Kennedy's loss in the 1980 Primary after the Super Tuesday primaries on June 3rd of 1980, American's elected Reagan.

If Trump wins the nomination by March 15th, continuing a fratricidal contest between Democrats will give Republicans a huge advantage.

I would like my vote in the Presidential Primary on June 7 to mean something besides a coronation or protest. In our modern system it makes more sense to end the primary earlier and get Sanders on the road to Campaign for Clinton.

But if he wants to hang on to the very end, that is his choice. We can only hope, then, that Republican Donors use their anti-trump option.

Donors ask GOP consulting firm to research independent presidential bid
Conservative donors have engaged a major GOP consulting firm in Florida to research the feasibility of mounting a late, independent run for president amid growing fears that Donald Trump could win the Republican nomination.
A memo prepared for the group zeroes in on ballot access as a looming obstacle for any independent candidate, along with actually identifying a viable, widely known contender and coalescing financial support for that person. The two states with the earliest deadlines for independent candidates, Texas and North Carolina, also have some of the highest hurdles for independents to get on the ballot, according to the research.

“All this research has to happen before March 16, when inevitably Trump is the nominee, so that we have a plan in place," a source familiar with the discussions said. March 16 is the day after the GOP primary in Florida, a winner-take-all contest that Marco Rubio supporters have identified as a must-win to stop Trump's early momentum.

The h supporters are so fond of calling h tough and being vetted. What is a couple more months for her. It will make her razor sharp if she wins a long, protacted battle in the primary.

Isn't that what you have told us again and again.

No free ride for h.

and the possibility of a third party run for a Republican.

Sanders will be out there campaigning for Clinton, if she wins the nomination, and I suspect he will vote for her. Sanders knows that she is a thousand times better than any Republicans. He simply prefers himself to her.

If Hillary wins more delegates, she will be the nominee. Bernie can run until there is no chance mathematically but even then, I hope he is viable enough that say if Hillary should drop dead, he can step in. I've said this from the beginning and I support HRC, I wanted at least another candidate because anything can happen. It's just pragmatic and that's not a bad word.

and WE don't want him to quit.

The longer Bernie runs, the greater the likelihood of the political revolution that will return America to a healthy democracy.

Hill fans cannot understand Bernie's motivation. It is beyond them, at present.

Maybe someday they will understand. But we can't wait for them.

The indignation over attacks on universal health care seems to be very selectively applied too.

...you'd get more respect from the Clinton people.

Sanders has shown he can win a Primary; he's apparently about to show he can lose several. That decision is being made by actual Democratic voters, as much as you'd apparently like to blame someone else.

You are one of my all time favor posters on DU. I mean it seriously! I'm sure when September rolls around most of us will start to come together to stop the GOP. However right now, it seems to many of us Bernie Sanders supporters that Hillary and her supporters feel she is entitled to be the Democratic nominee, hence the anointed remark. While I would vote for her over any Republican, I personally will never forgive the RFK remark.

It's her turn, after all. (Seems like we've all heard that line before, like in 2012 or there abouts. BTW, it didn't work then.)

I think it is called hubris. And a political campaign based on hubris is always in danger.

And that goes for both Bernie supporters and Hillary supporters. Dial it down, people. Dial it way down. You are just dividing the party.

Wake up sheeple! The idiots are crossing the battlements. Let's not fight ourselves when the enemy is at the gates.

And no! I do not want to read about who can and who cannot beat any arbitrary putative GOP nominee.

I think a great president said something about that once...

"Unite we stand; divided we fall."
