(4,797 posts)Why would we nominate the candidate who is already polling badly (and continually getting worse) over the one who polls well and continues to improve?
The only answers I have seen are that Bernie will get destroyed by Republicans in the general (although Hillary has done her best to no effect); or that polls don't matter (except when they do, apparently). Both of these are directly addressed by this article.

(25,586 posts)Get your youth revolution thingie in gear if you think he's the man we should run. Hillary folks will back him in a GE if you can get him through the primaries successfully, but his chances are lookin' mighty slim without some serious dedication and a big-ass surge. Nobody is forcing anything.
Clinton has the advantage of party structural support after a lifetime of party service, but if you have such a huge enthusiasm advantage then bloody well start making it count and win some wide delegate margins in big states.
