Judge rules Libertarians will stay on Pa. ballot

PETER JACKSON

The Associated Press

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Libertarian Party's candidates will stay on Pennsylvania's ballot.

A state judge ruled in favor of the party Wednesday, ending a nearly eight-week review of petition signatures that was forced by a challenge backed by the state Republican Party.

Is this expected to take votes from Romney? TroyD Oct 2012 #1
It peals away votes from the right wing of the Tea Party, which is the RW of the GOP. nt Xipe Totec Oct 2012 #2

I would assume that's why the Republicans were fighting it?

And Libertarians aren't religious nutcases. Amazing how the GOP has splintered off into so much crazy.

That's way closer to being republican than democratic.

Here in Virginia we have Virgil Goode running for pres for Constitutional Party and Gary Marshall running for pres as a Libertarian. I figure both will skim votes from Romney.

Republicans fought Goode being on the ticket....he has run in the past as a republican.

Poll: Despite debate loss, Obama maintains lead in Pa.

By Thomas Fitzgerald
INQUIRER POLITICS WRITER

President Obama maintains a healthy lead in Pennsylvania less than a month before the election, even though most voters believe he lost last week's debate decisively to Republican Mitt Romney, according to the latest Inquirer Pennsylvania Poll.

Obama was the choice of 50 percent of likely voters to 42 percent for Romney in the survey by a bipartisan team of pollsters - a narrowing of the president's lead by 3 points compared with the newspaper's September poll, taken following the two national political conventions.

They will most likely vote for a Libertarian on any states ticket or write-in Paul or stay home.
