2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumPathological Lying
I read an article this morning where the author tried to justify Romney's chronic lying as the actions of any CEO reacting to customer's demands. I'll grant you that most CEO's have no ethical or moral issues surrounding their own lying (but just don't lie to them!). But in all honesty, and yes, the vast majority of us remain honest, I view both Romney's and Ryan's chronic lying as more pathological in nature - which is far more disturbing to me than lying CEO's lying for the sake of money.
It's my hope that the majority of American's still view lying as a unbecoming virtue, one that is not to be rewarded with our votes.

(35,015 posts)In fact, many CEOs are psychopaths. Lying is lying...why do you think Romney and Ryan lie? Same reason a CEO does (which Romney knows well) - for money! No difference.
When the media refuses to call them liars, hold them accountable and perpetrate the lies themselves....things get mighty confusing for people.

(1,730 posts)both Rmoney and Ryan have been caught doing countless times. This goes beyond typical CEO lying driven by greed or a perverse desire to always "win" at whatever cost.
The fact is, no one, including the international community, can trust one damn thing either of these pathological liars say. They'd be an unmitigated disaster.
