GOP plans investigation into Sept. jobs number conspiracy or why Darrell Issa is a freaking lunatic

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) told Fox News on Wednesday that he would hold hearings into the September job numbers, buying into a widely-discredited conspiracy theory that President Obama faked last month’s figure to improve his re-election chances.
After the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released an unexpectedly strong monthly jobs report last Friday — finding a dramatic drop in unemployment to 7.8 percent and revised the number of jobs added in July and August up from initial estimates, a group of conservatives led by former GE CEO Jack Welch — suggested that the numbers could have been fudged. Issa has now promised to look into the matter: http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/10/11/994151/gop-plans-congressional-investigation-into-september-jobs-number-conspiracy/

...and maybe help deflect the conspiracy that led to our Libyan diplomat's death.

First they cut funds to our embassies in 2011.

Then they cut more in 2012, almost to the tune of a half a billion dollars, while our Secretary of State decries the cut and the Repugs refuse to listen.

Then our embassy gets attacked, our ambassador murdered.

AND then Jason Chavetz calls an off-term meeting, unplanned of course, to decry the murder as the Administration's fault.

Who is kidding who?

And we still refuse to believe that Conservatism is nothing more than a criminal conspiracy hiding behind the GOP front?

Gimme a break.

I like to think that the current incarnation of the GOP is the Organized Crime Party. A collection of private service politicians who specialize in 'pay for play' legislation services.

I have a feeling he was pandering to the Fox News crowd. But PLEASE investigate it. Hold Congressional hearings. I would love to have a day or 2 of headlines leading into the election discussing how the unemployment rate is dropping and that this news so upsets Republicans that they are wasting tax payer dollars to try and prove some sort of nefarious activity. The RW nuts will love it, and the rest of the country will recoil in horror. Please do this.

this is not going to help them. This is conspiracy theory sort of stuff. Next you know, they'll be looking into whether pollsters actually "skew" their results towards Democrats (and I may or not be joking about that!)
