Related: About this forumThe Negativity From Hillary and Her Supporters Is Having An Impact
Hillary's losing support at about the same rate that Democrats are saying they won't vote. That's what happens when you go Negative. It looks like Sanders is also seeing a bump as Democrats who don't like negative campaign seem to be switching to Bernie.

If Bernie loses ...before they destroy the party let's hope the neoliberal 3rd way democrats realize they had a thirty plus year ride and it's over.

(26,549 posts)Golly, I wonder how one could possibly find the poll. Oh well. Must be impossible.
Oh wait! Google exists. And searching for "Reuters Poll" gives you the Reuters polling web site....which has this poll on the front page. Boy that was so easy to find!

This is a State by State contest. If Clinton picks up the Southern States that Obama won in 2008, Sanders will need to pick up some VERY BIG States that Clinton won in 2008. Where are they?

(7,143 posts)The only quasi-significant county which he will dominate is Athens. The rest of Southeast Ohio is coal country, and Sanders has been explicitly hostile to the coal industry. Same with central eastern Ohio.
He could ordinarily do well in Franklin (Columbus), but OSO will be on spring break. With a 28% black population, he's toast without college students.
Cuyahoga (Cleveland) is 30% black. Hamilton (Cincinnati) is 27% black. Montgomery (Dayton) is 21% black. Lucas (Toledo) is 27% black.
Speaking with some authority on this subject, Sanders cannot win Ohio - statewide polls notwithstanding. Ditto, BTW, for Michigan and Illinois (hola Chicago!).

I never realized that. Free college would probably go over well. Parents would see a way for their kids to escape a dying industry.

They do not care that she negotiates backwards immediately seeking far less on minimum wage than the other candidates were. All the complaints about her are simplistic interpretation of complex events.

(17,505 posts)But... all those things are observations, not attacks.
and I would add:
Sanders is not a corporate shill, Sander's does not have a racist past, Sanders wasn't a Goldwater girl, Sanders doesn't have an email scandal, Sanders never seemed anti-gay, even in the '70s and 80s. Sanders doesn't support military juntas.
African Americans who don't seem to know Sanders civil rights past are ignorant.... if they don't know about it. Gays are ignorant if they don't know about Sanders long history of championing their rights, etc. Why these two groups would ignore Sanders' history on these subjects is a mystery.
Hillary is also often accused of not being consistent. I disagree. Just because the official GOP has lost its ever-loving mind doesn't mean that the old GOP ideas are dead. Many of them live in the Third Way. Hillary is still a Goldwater girl.

(4,205 posts)Her record speaks for itself on a lot of that but anyone alluding to those who support her being ignorant is absolutely wrong and in fact ignorant on their part. Nothing is gained on either side by attempts to demean the opposition, that goes both ways, and does nothing beyond harming the ones attempting it and causing schisms that become too wide and deep to overcome.

(7,299 posts)What about the negativity coming from Bernie's supporters ? You would have to be blind not to see that negativity on this site. I really don't think that the Republicans have been as brutal towards Hillary over the past 25 years as I've seen of the Bernie supporters on this site in the last 6 months. Even Bernie himself found it necessary to come out a couple of weeks ago and speak to this issue. Go ahead and convince yourselves otherwise Bernie supporters. But, you're only fooling yourselves.

(7,299 posts)It's disingenuous to claim that Bernie supporters have not gone negative on Hillary and her supporters on this site. We're called DINOs and Third Wayers merely for supporting her. This has been a two way street.
Trajan
(19,089 posts)She is their useful foil, and it fits their agenda to hold her up for ridicule ...
On the other hand, many of us regular Democrats see her as way too conservative ... As someone who speaks 'liberal' when she has to, but then rules as a moderate republican ...
We regular Democrats aren't buying it this time around ... Our complaints are legitimate ... Stop trying to paint our legitimate complaints about her as 'attacks' ... If it's a truth, and based on a concrete fact, then, it's not an attack ...
Trust Buster
(7,299 posts)Calling Hillary the Republican's "useful foil" is not only an unsubstantiated opinion but it assumes that the millions of Hillary supporters are the Republicans "useful foils" as well, by definition. No two Democrats have sustained vicious Republican attacks over the years more so than Bill and Hillary. Thanks for pointing out to us that they're secret Republicans. Good to see that your not going negative on Hillary supporters though.
Trajan
(19,089 posts)Appear to be happy with her moderate republican stances ...
I say to them - there is already a republican party ... Go join them if you want a republican nominee ...
And to you? ... Your nonsensical commentary isn't worth my time any longer ...
I utterly and completely disagree with your candidate choice AND your proclamations about how things are ...
Given a chance to avoid this, I will take it ... Gone
