After the First Debate: Tight in Colorado & Wisconsin; President Still Leads in Virginia
October 4-9, 2012
In Colorado, where President Barack Obama led by just a point in September, Mitt Romney nowhas a one-point edge. In Wisconsin, the race has tightened; Mr. Obama has just a three-pointlead now, down from six points last month. The race is unchanged in Virginia, where thePresident is holding onto a small lead. All three polls were conducted after the first presidentialdebate.
By about four to one, voters in all three of these battleground states say Mitt Romneywon last weeks presidential debate, and sizeable numbers say the debate made themthink better of him. But majorities say the debate didnt affect their vote.
More voters think Mitt Romney has strong qualities of leadership than say that about thePresident, but voters are divided on whether he is honest and trustworthy.
Republicans continue to be more enthusiastic than Democrats about voting this year ingeneral, particularly in Colorado and Wisconsin.
In all three states, the percentage that thinks the national economy is improving hasrisen since August. Both candidates are even on handling the economy in Virginia andWisconsin, while Romney leads on this in Colorado.
Heading into the Vice Presidential debate, voters in these battlegrounds expect PaulRyan to emerge the victor over Joe Biden.

(320 posts)Of course, the RWers will call out the JEW York Times for being blatantly pro-Obama.
And what about that BS that Suffolk said about Obama not breaking 50% in VA? Maybe they want to go back into the state now? Morons.

(8,994 posts)Your post was alerted on by someone for that "JEW York Times" comment. I gave you the benefit of the doubt (I was juror #2), and I hope I wasn't wrong.
At Wed Oct 10, 2012, 10:50 PM an alert was sent on the following post:
Marvelous

REASON FOR ALERT:
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)
ALERTER'S COMMENTS:
JEWYork Times is not appropriate for DU.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed Oct 10, 2012, 11:24 PM, and the Jury voted 3-3 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Looks to me like the poster was being facetious about JEW York Times. Maybe he or she sees RWers as hating Jewish people. Others might see it a different way and the poster might get PPR'd, though. I don't know their posting record either. Note to self: if I ever say something like that, be sure to clarify what I mean...
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: It is exactly the excuse used by many RWers to explain such "unfavorable" results in the past. This comment does nothing more than point out that fact.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT and said: I searched Alekei_Firebird's posts and found no pattern of bad behavior. I believe this is meant to be sarcasm, mocking bigots who don't like Jews. With reluctance, I vote to HIDE.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: I don't like it either, but it's what right wingers do say.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

What possibly could need any clarification in the above?
I also assume that the alerter believed it to be an attack by the poster, but there is absolutely nothing in the poster's statement that warrants that conclusion.

(8,994 posts)it avoided a hide on the most razor thin margin: 3-3.

(2,354 posts)I was a juror as well, and also noted the slim margin, which surprised me.
When it is this clear, I am inclined to place all the blame firmly on the readers, not the writer. I guess I've just been seeing too many hasty things here of late, that aren't warranted. Maybe everyone is just a bit too much on edge and frazzled of late.

...so they included (and were probably front-loaded on) Romney's two best days of polling ever.

(3,440 posts)As I keep saying, once October 4 and 5 fall out of the system, the numbers will improve.

(33,497 posts)that dumb ass pollster with Suffolk said he would no longer be polling VA because it was in the bag for Romney. Wisconsin is good, too. Like most of the other polls, a small but consistent Obama lead. We have work in Colorado, but it's winnable.
