THANKS EVERYONE!!! THREAD #2 HERE:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511322622
A thread for those of us to watch together and comment without rancor or insults. Let us give credit where it is due to both our candidates.
Will go to a second thread at 9Pm for the Hillary half. If you have no hate in your heart, please join in!
If you want to rip any Democrat to shreds, no popcorn or beer for you!
I will split this into thread #2 for the second hour, which I think will be Hillary's turn. ?
If anyone can help me track down links to watch it for FREE live, please let me know so I can add to this thread. Thanks in advance.
The two-hour broadcast will begin on CNN at 8 p.m.- 10 PM ET, with one hour for each candidate.
Also on: CNN en Español and CNN International.
Online: CNNgo will let people stream the whole thing as a "free preview"

(47,209 posts)At least last time it was said he "won the coin toss". There seems to be pros and cons to either slot.
Hillary is up against The People Vs OJ Simpson, that is going to cost her. The cast is incredible!

(52,166 posts)A lot of people that only regular watchers of TV will have heard of plus some really good ones we have heard of. Courney Vance is amazing as is the woman playing Clark.

(47,209 posts)The meeting of the super lawyers was pretty strange, Travolta, Nathan Lane as F Lee Bailey and that guy from Californification as Alan Dershowitz. Even the guy playing Barry Scheck was good!
And with Connie Britton playing her, I am sure the Faye Resnick part will be entertaining. Luckily, they will show it again at 11. I will have to miss the after Town Hall analysis to catch it.
I hope they both make a good show of it tonight. *crosses fingers*
I am wondering if they have a theme again? Chris Cuomo is moderating, not my favorite Dem. Oh well.

(2,052 posts)Bernie yells a lot
First question "Bernie, you cursed at a man once. Don't you feel like you owe the American people an apology?"
Hillary is so Presidential. She's ready for day one.
First question "What's it like to be so awesome?"
Everyone's candidate won.

(2,546 posts)The woman who stated that she was a Hillary supporter up front... soon began to measurably wilt and was doing all that she could including biting her lip as Bernie answered her with passion and relevance. She clearly was very emotionally engaged with how Bernie was responding to her question discussing passion for what you are doing and his overall sincerity to her personally. She clearly was trying very hard not to cry. I would be surprised if she was not motivated to change her support to Bernie... in that moment.

Started with no support vs a candidate who's been around. Address racial injustice, youth unemployment. End militarized pd's and diversify the pd's.
Now on to Supreme Court.

(15,512 posts)which is that I will be very happy to hear the last of Bernie's endless complaints about the process, which has benefitted him in all kinds of ways including making allowances for his not being a Democrat and those nifty AmericanCrossroads ads which he never mentions. Bernie has not a good word for any government agency or sitting politician, no sir. He's on message like a predictable radio host and my single observation is that I didn't think he was a particularly good radio host, either. Warmed-over boilerplate from back issues of The Nation which wasn't very original even when it was new new.
Okay over and out.

(4,387 posts)...particularly if you're more politically aware, like those of us here, is that we tend to watch everything. I'm not sure the vast majority of people do that. So when we see the same speech all the time, sure, it can get old...for us. But if you're someone who says "Oh crap, our caucuses are tomorrow!" and you tune in to watch the candidates it may be the first or second time you hear that message.
