Does anyone have a really great link,

one that breaks down what President Obama has done (or tried to do) for the unemployed?

I was chatting with my neighbor today. She's been unemployed for a while now, and is bitter about it. The topic of politics came up. She doesn't like Romney, but tends to blame Obama for her unemployment. She is undecided, and I don't want to lose her vote to Romney.

I pointed out that Obama has improved the jobs market, but her response was "he should have done something by now."

I'm going to print out the whole thing and give it to her along with Romney's debate lies debunked.

I don't think she's rabidly anti-Obama; just frustrated by her job situation.

4. I know what that frustration feels like. I lost my job for no reason whatsoever, and our state

department of labor agrees with me about that (and awarded me my unemployment benefits). That was 3 years ago. I get pretty decent interviews now and then for good jobs that I'd love to have, but I think I'm too old, over qualified, and possibly black-balled at this point because I went against my previous employer in order to get those un-employment benefits (which are long gone now anyway). Thank Goodness for Social Security, but I have no Health Care, and I'm poorer than I have been in my entire life.

Please tell your friend some of us know why she's bitter, I share her frustration and anger, and we're doing our best to change things for the better and THAT's why (after serious study and consideration) I enthusiastically support the re-election of Barack Obama for President of the USA.

start looking up for you.

I want to tread carefully with her on the topic because my husband has a long-time job with good pay and benefits, and she knows this, so I don't want it to turn into a what-do-you-know-about-it type thing.

But of course I want to help her realize a vote for Romney would be a really bad decision.

the actual details of government source documents about what was done, not media interpretations, but the types of publications that if they say anything even slightly false or incorrect everyone in the country kicks their butts and makes a big public deal out of it, so you can trust those source links.

3. Republicans have filibustered Obama's major jobs legislation: the American Jobs Act

When people talk about what President Obama has or hasn't done, they should remember that he & his Cabinet and staff are the Executive Branch, NOT the Legislative Branch which is responsible for WRITING and sponsoring and passing bills. He can make recommendations for what would be useful from the Executive perspective which then can be written into legislation like the American Jobs Act, but it is CONGRESS that either makes it happen or prevents it.

Everything that the Obama administration has accomplished, like all of the stuff in the first link I gave to you, had to be done DESPITE Republican control of Congress and their sworn objective to make Barack Obama a one term President. Even in 2009-10 when Congress was at it most favorable configuration for the President - IT WAS STILL NOWHERE NEAR THE EASY PEASY BUNCH OF YES-MEN, AND WOMEN, THAT WOULD JUST AUTO-PASS WHATEVER LEGISLATION OBAMA WANTED, research on this fact at this link:

So, whatever your friend's expectation are about what the President was supposed to have done for her should be viewed in terms of the political REALITIES in which all of that and everything else are supposed to occur.
