"I'll go talk to white people instead." I completely agree with her that listening is the most important thing. I just don't think she always leads by example in that regard.

They really weren't listening to her either. They were talking past each other, which is counter productive. It takes 2 to listen. They were talking at her but not listening to her answers. And, I say this as a black man, I've always found the BLM movement a little lacking. The goals are correct, it's the execution of those goals that I have trouble with. Disrupting a speech may get you attention, but it also shuts down dialog. Civil disobedience is appropriate in certain circumstances, but DO NOT shut down the damn freeway. People have to get to work, black people included. Someone could be having a medical emergency and the ambulance can't get to the hospital because you're stopping the flow of traffic. In any civil rights movement, you must always make certain that you are not harming the people you're actually trying to protect.

I don't think this rises to the level of bold, visionary, etc. but the sentiment is nice.
